Ecigs ruin cigs, then ruin themselves.

I'm not saying this experience was bad, it's great really. I'm not saying anyone else will have this experience, but I'm saying it had happened.

I smoke ecigs for a few weeks, then they make my throat all dry, taste spicy/dry just hitting the tip of my tongue and get worse on the way down the throat, I drink lot's of water, tried switching to VG for a while and no results.

Next I try smoking Marlboro again and they taste like sharpie marker among other things, just disgusting, couldn't smoke them if I wanted, guess I'm stuck with the ecig even though it is less enjoyable then my original smoking habit which didn't bother me personally, I loved it lol, problem was family/friends hated it and I knew one day I'd have my chest open on a table..

I guess this will be my crutch until I quit for good, inhaling anything but air isn't right, in some way it's really blessing. I wish everything I did that wasn't healthy wasn't pleasurable.

Sorry to hear about your experience David. I didnt start to dry out until a week or so into vaping, then I started drinking more water and I have not had an issue since. But I do have some flavors and some cartos that I cant stand more than a few hits in a row. I do know what you mean about not being able to go back to cigarettes; I would not be able to do it even if I desired to. Hopefully you can find other equipment or e-juice that will work better for you if you are not able to stop altogether.

Water, water, water...that's all I can give as advice. Similar experience for me a few weeks into vaping, but drinking a little under a gallon of water a day has made vaping a ton more enjoyable that cigs ever were. Also, you didn't mention equipment, an adjustment in cartos might do it too. I no longer use polyfill cartos as they made my asthma flare up. Clearos are the best for me, try em out if you haven't already done so.

What mg of nicotine are you using? I almost quit vaping in the beginning because of just what your talking about here. The spicy taste was the nic being to high for me and drinking more fluids period (I can't stand plain water) helped with the dryness. I went from 24 mg down to 18 and that made the spicy or peppery flavor go away as well as the burn. Hope this helps and good luck.

Another possibility to consider here is that you are having wicking issues...

The most important part about electronic cigarettes is wicking.
That is how the juice gets to the heating element and gets vaporized.

If your juice is not getting there fast enough, you can experience significant harshness.

Now if this is your problem, solving it is another matter altogether which can depend on any of the following factors...
--The specific equipment you are using
--The PG/VG ratio of your juice
--How much time you take between drags
--The voltage you are running
--The resistance of your atomizer/cartomizer

If you think wicking may be the factor here, give us some more information and we will help you.

I was getting that unpleasant peppery taste at the beginning, too, and getting frustrated. I found that lowering my nic levels, plus letting the juice steep for a while so the flavoring could have a chance to develop worked for me. I haven't had the peppery mouth burning in over a week, even with the juices that were almost unbearable before now.

I also noticed that using plastic carts irritates my mouth. I think I have to suck on them harder or something, but I can use my Stardust all day long with no problem, but if I use a plastic cart on my 510 T for a while, my lips and mouth get sore.

Please don't give up or just accept that vaping has to be unpleasant. Try different things and see what works for you. Try taking longer, slower drags. Try cutting your nic level a little. Try drinking water a sip for every drag. Try letting your juice steep for a week or two. Make sure you take a couple of primer puffs before inhaling so you don't irritate your throat with burnt taste.

Most of all, give people on here as many details as you can and let them try to help. They are wonderful.

I get what youre saying! i hated my first e cig purchase, had all sorts of problems with it, and took a drag of my sister's analog which then tasted like sucking on an exhaust pipe. i was pretty miserable til i got a new pv lowered my nic and found some juices i really dug. im pretty happy now its been about a month and i dont miss cigarettes nearly as much as i thought i would. i focus on how bad that one drag tasted any time i feel a craving and its really helped. im the type that needs to know what im missing though.
if you become smoke and vape free then great job that's awesome willpower.
