It was -30 a couple days ago here and I was outside four ~3 hours and everything seemed to be fine, I just had to make sure to keep my drip tip warm because it was stainless steel... haha.

Oh, that's good to hear. Ya, it was about -20 with the wind chill here when I walked home the other day but I was too chicken to use my Inferno. I just kept it in my pocket and even kept my hand around it in case it got too cold and cracked. lol

... sometimes we may have temps of -40 or so......

As soon as I read "-40" my eyes started to flick to the left to your location.... and even before I got there, I was thinking "Alberta???" lol.... I'm from Edm area, so I sympathize..... miss my family and friends, but sure as heck don't miss the snow and bone-chilling temperatures. That's a long walk.... stay warm ;)

Leaving an e-cigarette out in that weather could definitely crack plastic or glass, liquid will get thicker, but won't freeze. Of course if you keep your e-cigarette close to your body when not using it, it won't get anywhere near that temperature and should be fine. I believe battery life will be a bit worse though.

There was a thread about this a bit ago here; http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/canada-forum/343823-cold-weather-vaping.html

Oh, thanks chagrin. I'll check that out. I was worried that could happen. Might have to carry the little chicken in my bra like they used to in the old days! ha!
Hi Tygertyger. Yes, it's a mighty chilly walk especially if it's windy. I have a great warm coat though from working up north. So it keeps part of me toasty. My legs, however, become more like Popsicle sticks and by the end I'm walking like Frankenstein. lol :)

Were you using a Vivi or T2 ? I'm wondering if the plastic in those would crack at some point, it seems pretty strong though.

You're probably safe with an inside coat pocket. :) I just meant if you left an e-cigarette outside for too long by itself, you could have problems, but in a pocket it shouldn't be cold enough to do damage.

Of course we're still above freezing here, so I'm not an expert in crazy cold weather.

I would imagine that cold weather is hard on an atomizer because its going from what sounds like well below freezing to very hot and back again repeatedly putting more stress on the metal. It would be like bending a coat hanger back and forth just a little on a warm day and then bending it back and forth a lot on colder days unless you can keep it somewhere it will stay warm ...or just chain vape while walking :)

I know cold isnt good for batteries but as long as youre using your pv regularly or keeping it warm in a pocket or next to your skin it shouldnt be an issue.
