Nice find! Will an 18650 fit?

Hi Stormy! If an 18650 is larger in diameter than an 14500, then no, it won't fit. There's barely 1/16" to 1/32" clearance between the battery and the leading edge of the lid. The lid does have a "bump out", making that clearance almost 1/8". But you would have to be able to slide the lid over the battery first of all. I don't have an 18650, so I can't experiment with it. (all stated measurements are 'eye-balled')

First that`s one sweet tin you have to mod there Circumspice
I think Carlos used a button type on his first juice boxes to hit the bottle. Then the Reo as well uses this way. Pretty basic actually but I have yet to make one. Will be trying it soon on the eclipse mints tin. Tried to find where Redeyedancer think the creature of the Reo described it in a thread before they became a supplier status..

Can`t recall if there was a spring involved or not. I`m thinking the spring really wouldn`t be needed though if it was. Could help some I suppose.

Thanks Conn! I guess I'll resume my lurking on the mod threads. There's so much on ECF to lurk... er... look through!

Here's a thread that shows a push button juice bottle, it has a spring - http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...9401-reo-wooden-box-mod-juice-fed-review.html. Didn't get to read it all, I don't know if they explain fully how it works. But, it does have some pictures.

:w00t: OMG!!! I found another housing suitable for juicebox mods. This appeals to me even more than my little Coca Cola slider tin.

It is a case for folding non-prescription reader glasses. I bought it to use as a accessory case to carry spare bottles, batteries and atties. But as I was playing with it and test fitting various juice bottles, atties and batteries it struck me that I could use it as a housing if I wanted to. Just think... no battery door to break or lose!

It is made of vinyl covered steel with a hinged lid. The hinge is tight and it closes with a 'snap'. I'll have to remove the flocked plastic tray/liner on one half of the case so I can solder or epoxy the components to the inside of the case...

 What's going on here? Everything I see is a prospective mod!!!
I even found the pencil sharpener that people are making into huge juicebox mods... for $3.00! Nowadays I always go to the toy aisle of a store to look at the possibilities there. I found a toy flip phone, with a rubber keypad that makes noises when you press the keys. The only problem with that one is that it's cheap and cheesy looking and very fragile. But I'll just keep looking.

Hey is that mine?
Nope you have your own. My sister just got us some of those the other day from the Dollar Tree I think. Very nice little mod box. Holds one 18650 or two 14500 batteries. Actually almost holds 2 18650 but some trouble shutting it the way the hinge works and also leaves no room for anything else. Great mod box all the way. :p

Hey Conn! I got mine at big lots. I got the sharpener there, too. Are you going to take out half of the liner, in order to be able to solder or epoxy the components in? I'm thinking that I'll have to do that. I'm also trying to decide on the atty and switch placement... Any thoughts on that? Thanks!

This case is actually just slightly wider then the mints tin and also slightly longer. Curved sides and would make a real nice hand comfortable mod. Very close to the mints tin but a softer touch to it.

I kind of like the interior of the box and might try to keep it but it would for sure get some cuts in it for mounting the battery. Just not sure what all I`d do there myself yet.

The pictures below are just made up and not working mods.

I like side mounted switches. And think this would feel good in the hand. I would mount this on the hinge side of the same side the battery was being mounted on. Same with the atomizer connection although I`m not sure I wouldn`t angle it slightly towards one of the sides rather then straight in the center.

Or a button type switch still has plenty of room to go on either side with a 18650 battery in it. I don`t think this set up feels so natural in my hand though but that could just be me used to all the side mounted switches I do.

This really wants to be modded. But my plate is full for right now.

:2c: Just a thought... Wouldn't mounting the switch on the hinge side interfere with the opening of the case?

I was thinking about recessing the atomizer into the case a bit. To do that I'd have to solder in a frame member to hold the atty connector and the battery connections. I could get the steel from cutting up a veggie can. Maybe one of the white lined ones? I haven't decided whether I want a top mount or a side mount for the switch yet. I do know that I'll go for as small a switch as I can find though. I don't like the big switches. They go off in my pocket. That reminds me... on-off switch... I could mount that entirely inside the case. (there's so much room to work with in this case!) :p
