I got one from my local B&M, he said it was a very good battery.

IMRen
AWT
MXJO
Subohm Cell

All four of these are re-wraps just like Efest and Vamped, yet their track record thus far are way better in quality, example Subohm Cell were at one time using LG HE2 and HE4 B+ Bin Cells, cells that just barely didn't make the grade for LG to slap their own name onto, I've got a pair of IMRen purples, say they are 35amp but I treat them like just a 20amp Samsung or LG and they have worked well for the past 6months, I've got not complaints or heard of any mishaps in my local area. Though mind you I only use them in my SVD 2.0 (re-vamped DNA20 board 20watts max) and my Sig Mini 30watt, never in my mechs or 50+ watt boxes.

Good retailers in the US that are Authorized Authentic resellers-

RTDVapor
Illumination Supply
IMRBatteries
Liion Wholesale
Orbtronics

I think more than just efest batteries get rewrapped. But I feel ya.

It might take a newbie wrapping a .15 ohm coil (beginner's luck? chance?) using an efest to vent a cell, or at least make it really hot, especially if it's in a mech. But how many newbies do you know who go about wrapping a .15 ohm coil right off the bat? If it's one of their buddies who hands it off and something goes bad, is it the battery's fault or the user's?

Hopefully in this day and age of regulated devices (even regulated devices don't provide 100% safety), this shouldn't be too much of an issue. A year ago, yeah, with mechs, maybe.

Blame the Chinese company all you want, I doubt it'll make any difference. Sort of like guns, though. Know what you're doing and using and you can have one hell of a fun time. Don't know what you're handling or don't respect it, if you blow you're own head off... is it the bullet's fault or the person holding the gun?

Ya, there are alot of other rewrappers like MXJO, Asoibo, Efan, and Subohmcells to name a few. Now, there is one rewrapper I know of that is honest, Craving Vapor. They make the Hex Ohm boxs and will tell you their batteries are rewrapped 25r's. And now Pegasus is releasing a line of batteries that are rewraps however on them he prints their exact honest specifications to help new users determine whats best for their setup.

Im not sure guns are a good analogy. I think rewrappers would be akin to a gun manufacturer producing a gun thats stated to be able to handle 38's and 357's however they are obviously overrated and incapable of safely firing 357 magnums and will eventually fail when firing them. Kind of like efest's 38 amp batteries, you can get away with using them at 38 amps for a while, but its only a matter of time until something fails.
