Effective 12/26/13 all AW IMR batteries will now have a new hologram AW logo.

Thanks for the info V. I just got some more 18650 1600 mah two weeks ago from RTD and it's still the old logo.
I saw those too. Obviously an attempt to distinguish authentic from counterfeit AW's.

im glad im not the only one. i was looking forward to the hologram, but instead i received older stock
i ordered on 1.2.14 and figured that would be enough time for me to get the new ones but i figured wrong. i wonder if i had put a note in the comment box of my order if they would have given me the new one.
oh well. not a big deal. just a minor disappointment amidst great products and great service from RTD.
I just got an AW IMR 18650 battery from a friend (to replace one he borrowed that now meters at 4.3v) and thought that it might be a fake until I searched for and found this thread - thanks!

i have been questioning the authenticity of the "MNKE"s i bought from them.*
this does not bode well.
looks like i'll be retiring them.
good thing ive got some VTC4s in the mail to replace them.

This appears to be genuine information - RTD has it on their site. Still, thought I'd check it with you guys before I buy in.

The original AW IMR batteries have always been red like the ones below. The new ones will have a hologram "AW" decal instead of decal you see on the ones below.
Below is the new logo decal - silver with holographic black AW.

An acquaintance of mine had a spare AW 18650 that he bought somewhere in china in his side trouser pocket. He felt it leaking, and before he was able to put his hand in his pocket the batt exploded, and according to him it flew 20 feet. He showed me his dented car keys that were in the same pocket. The last I spoke to him he was starting his 3rd week of antibiotics for the acid burns on his leg. He is thankful he still has his legs
