I'm sure, if you're like me, you have a few ego-T 1100 batteries that finally gave up the ghost. Aside from having a dead battery, they are perfectly good units. All we need is the replacement LiON battery, which is a 13700. China, of course, is full of 'em, but at quantities of a 1000, 5000, etc. A little toooooo much stock for my uses. I keep about 5 circuit boards in stock, which fail far more often than the battery, but lately I've been having a rash of battery failures.
I managed to scrounge a source in China that is willing to talk something more reasonable, like 100 pcs at $3 to $4/pc. I guess my question is whether there is enough DIY repair interest to take a dive, or maybe a group buy, for 100 batteries.
Considering that these things sell for $15 to $20 a pop, it really pays to repair, if you have the goodies, patience, and time to do it.
Any ideas?
