i read on the site where i ordered my battery not to use less than 2 ohm clearo on the ego winder 1100 mah battery......... and then discovered that some of the clearomizers I ordered are 1.8 ohm ;( - will it ruin the battery to use these 1.8 ohm clearos? or should i just bite the bullet and order 2.0 - 2.4 ohm replacement heads?

No, you should be just fine. I never had a problem with mine at 1.8. Generally, 1.8 Ohms is the bottom of the recommended range, but should be just fine. Really, unless you try low and mid and high resistance, you'll never know what your own preferences are. Some like it hot. Some do not. Just match up your voltage to your preferred wattage with a particular resistance. And if you're not sure about that, a safe vaper chart (all over here) will help you with that. General range for most juices seems to be about 6.5 Ohms to 7.5 Ohms. You can also use an Ohm's Law Calculator to help:

Watts - volts - amps - ohms conversion calculator

Good luck to you.

It won't ruin the battery, but you won't have much flexibility in your vape.

3.7v x 3.7v / 1.8Ω produces 7.6w; 4v will produce ≈ 8.8w; and 4.2v will produce ≈ 9.8w. These might not be a problem for you, but sometimes delicate juices taste better at lower power. Since you already have them, give it a shot, you might like it.

Here is a nice pretty chart of the above calculator

power.jpg

1.8Ωish is the bottom of the "normal" resistance coils...from there to 1Ω is considered "low ohm" below 1Ω...realm of the "sub ohmers" crowd

When you lower resistance but keep the normal voltages you increase the power the coil can deliver to the juice to make the vapor...too much power too fast and it burns the juice, or overheats the coils (which gives that hot metal taste)

Most people with normal range coils seem to like running 6-7 watts...your tastebuds will tell you where your optimum vape is at though

Good luck and Vape On!!!

Remember the Winder now goes down to 3.2 volts, so will produce as low as 5.6 watts at 1.8 Ohms. But your point is dead on.

That chart, like the mathematical calculations just give you a starting point, it isn't to be taken as hard and fast rules. Ultimately, you vape by taste, not numbers. What tastes good to you may not align with the chart. Unfortunately, that is why there are often threads posted by new vapers asking why their juice tastes burnt even though the chart says it's okay. Or in my case, I am currently vaping in the red zone.

Yes. I imagine it is like the Twist and Spinner: 3.2v to 4.8v, in .2 increments, but without a meter who knows what they are really firing at. I used them (and still do sometimes), but I tried to stay in the middle range because I didn't trust them to be precise.

Im not so polite nor am I so technically armed as my other friends here that have replied to your post...... but who ever put that "warning" on that site is just stupid. I have a feeling you will enjoy the lower Ohm heads as far as taste is concerned.

You havent wasted any money though because you needed to try different Ohm coils for yourself. Before its over, the extra purchase will be a drop in the bucket on your journey finding what is right for you.

Enjoy my friend !
