so, i'm very new to this, and just went from my bloog to an ego650c with a clear cartomizer thing (is this a "clearomizer?).

at any rate, the first few hits were great, but then it just started to taste bitter (when i did get any taste). the hits are harsh and make me couch, and i've tried changing fluid, adding fluid to the wick, holding it every imaginable way, holding the battery button for less time, etc. occasionally i'll get a good, flavorful, smooth puff, but almost always it either tastes like nothing or like burnt crud.

so, any tips? is this a problem with these things in general, or is it just me? if it is a general problem, what would you recommend for a chain-vaper who wants a consistently good vaping experience? i just don't want to use the little cartridges anymore because they require constant monitoring and refilling .

thanks

For me it was a a problem with them in general, I've had about 8 of the things and all of them had issues. There are some videos on youtube that have tricks to get them to work properly, myself I wanted something I didn't have to fiddle around with to make them work so I just trashed mine rather than mess around with them. I avoind anything that resembles them now and yes I know I am pre judging other systems that look similar LOL but oh well. Atomizers and a bottom feeder are the most relable for me with nothing to fiddle around with other than switching out the bottle or the atty.

A bottom feeder mod has the bottle of e liquid in the mod and when you squeeze (also known as squonking) the bottle it pushes the liquid through a tube into the atomizer/cartomizer thus no more dripping or refilling from the top. I prefer atomizers, for me they offer a far better flavor, throat hit, and vaper than anything else I've tried.

glad to know it's not just me.

ok, a really dumb question, but what is a bottom feeder?

i really know next to nothing (more like nothing) about the equipment. if you could recommend a something that would fit my battery, it would be much appreciated.

thanks

A bottom feeder is a mod (apv) that holds a bottle of e-liquid that feeds directly into your atomizer or cartomizer. Some models are Reo, VMax, HogMod, Boge Rev just to name a very few and I'm leaving many out.

I've never had the burnt taste with clearos but I know someone that has and I can attest that theirs did taste burnt because I tried it. Only difference between their e-liquid and mine is that mine was much thinner (high PG), clear and a non-tobacco flavor. I don't know which one caused the burning taste, or if neither one was the reason.

Same brand clearo, same brand battery. One tasted burnt and one didn't. One of the great mysteries of vaping I guess.

Edit: Jixchel beat me to it!

You've tried cartomizers and like them? In that case, a tank setup would work for you.

I probably wouldn't get a DCT for a 650 battery though. It'd kill your battery fairly quickly. Maybe a 2.0 or even a 1.7 single coil cartomizer setup. Maybe a 2.0 if you've had burnt taste issues.

Probably the easiest to use would be some type of clearomizer. Easy is relative, you have to fiddle with all of them to some extent- cartos, tanks, clearos. Maybe you'd want to try the tank, or a different type of clearomizer. Many people are very happy with them. I can't give you a personal recommendation of clearos, I haven't tried a lot of different types and don't use them that often.

I'm sure someone will give you a recommendation regarding what they use.

I'm confused, are you using an ego batt with a clearomizer, or an ego C?
if it's an ego C, i understand your frustration :/ I had a friend get one a couple months ago & he let me use the extra cone, base & an atty & tank... yuck... that is all I can say of that system... no flavor & when there was flavor it was burnt...
otherwise, I'd like to know what clearomizer youre using... some are great, others not... some have certain revisions that are so much better than the original... etc..
I personally prefer the CE3 XL. Filling with a syringe is a pain, but the flavor is great & no gunking like a CE2.
Good luck finding your preference, so much to choose from! ;)
