So I tried using my ego adapter with a tox and stardust combo and when I went to take the stardust off, the adaptor came out with it. Took forever and a pair of pliers to get it back out. Anyone got any tips for me? Really wish these adaptors had a flange...

When that happens to me I tighten the adapter to the device first, sometimes just a touch from my pliers. Then just don't tighten the Stardust as tight.

same here. got a modified ego adapter permanently screwed on my lt. just gave it a little extra tweak with the pliers so it dosen't want to come off easy and use a thread cover on it the rest of the time if its not needed. i did it to both improve the airflow and to keep from wearing the connector on the lt.

I'm gonna give that some serious consideration.

I don't tighten either the adapter or the Stardust at all. I watched SteelJan's video on adapter safety, and she really made a strong point in several of her videos that adapters can short out easily. And I've seen reports on ECF about this happening.

She advises not to tighten anything down beyond the contact point, so I don't. Aside from safety, it's real easy to take out the adapter if it comes off with the Stardust.

It sounds like you're just cranking the cart/atty onto the adapter too hard. Usually I just hold the tank/cart/atty very lightly, grasping just enough to keep it from falling out of your hand. Screw it on until you meet any resistance, if you're holding it lightly enough your fingers should lose traction on the tank/cart/atty. I've ruined a couple of egos by screwing down too hard, so this is the habit I formed because I really don't want to screw up my Provari. Anyway, good luck buddy :)

here is a pic of the airflow mod i did. drilled a small hole and added a grove through the threads for better airflow when a cone is on or for skirted cartos that can be a bit tight...

Only screwed it down till it made contact and would fire. Played with it some more and just made sure to tighten a bit more to the pv. I had been a bit hesitant because I didn't want to wallow the threads on the tox, but I created a pressure differential...for lack of a better term. Never really occurred to me to just leave it there all the time

Thanks everyone!

your pic in the middle harmonic; did you just file straight down through the threads?

its all the same adapter. first i drilled the hole but then i discovered the even though it had great airflow the cone or thread cover closed it back off again so i cut the groove in the threads with a dremel cuttoff wheel. with the groove it gets better airflow even with whatever cover. i got a couple vision giants and what not that the airflow seems cuttoff when its screwed into something and when i use them with this modded connector they breath much better which also lets me push my voltage up a little more if i want ...
