OK, Stardust-type tips are proliferating. They are taking over. It's an invasion. They are very practical and serviceable, and now we even have a few colors an'all. A definite step in the right direction.

But. Am I the only one who wishes she could use her own fancy tips in the Stardusts and other such tipped devices? I just invested in a whole bunch of Trippy Tips (8! accidentally scored on their site sale - hey, Chris and Dan - any possibility of getting some of those for us?), and I'd love to use them on my Stardusts, and other assorted Stardust-tipped hardware. Of course, I will happily use them on ViVis and such. :D

So, anyway, the long a short of it is: has anyone figured out how to mod the Stardust to accept a regular 510 tip?

And: could we pretty please ask the manufacturer/s to pretty please make an adapter of some sort? (I don't imagine it would be difficult for a factory to do this...) And I bet these would sell like hot-cakes. Will fly out the door. You know how vapers are about their drip tips... :D

Well, this gave me the idea to try this. One stardust tip, a carto tube, 5 minutes, a stove and a dremel was all it took.

Partially correct. I cut the stardust tip just below the thinnest point in the mouthpiece. I then heated the carto tube (using the stove, didn't want to break out the torch :) ) until it was hot enough to melt the stardust tip and pushed it over the tip, which created a pretty strong bond.

Then I cut the carto tube just short enough so the drip tip would seat.

Remember, you may have to exert some force to twist on and off the stardust tip, and the metal thread ring is too narrow for a standard drip tip to fit thru. So there had to be a decent amount of the stardust tip inside the tube so the tube won't simply twist off. Even if you could make a shorter version out of all metal, you might have trouble getting a good grip to twist the tip onto the threads.
