Hi friends,

I am narrowing down on my e-cig purchase. Can you guys tell me the difference between the Ego and the Ego-T? Is it that the Ego-T has tanks, but the regular Ego has cartridges?

Also how do you know when a tank is bad, and needs a new one after refilling many times?

Is it compatible with any other brands, or does it even need to be for any reason?

Lastly, where is the best place/price in your opinion to get a Ego-T kit?

Thank you extremely very much in advance.

The ego batteries are the same. The tank system has a different atomizer that is built into the cone. The tanks are good indefinitely, unless you break it. You shoult take em apart and clean em if you use different flavors and for sanitation. Tank system is best IMHO. More fluid = less changing/less run-out.

My recommendation is the Inferno from Volcano. Just got mine this week and it is AWESOME. They have an Inferno-T as well. I opted for the standard Inferno, and then purchased the tankomizer and blank tanks that will fit it. The Inferno is basically the Ego, just rebranded. The up side is that the Inferno comes with a 650mah with a pass-through and a 1000mah, as opposed to just the 2 650mah batts as I've seen the Ego sold on most sites.

It's completely compatible with any 510 parts (though you don't want to use the tank attys with a standard 510 battery, nor use the Inferno charger on the old 510 batteries).

My purchase as follows:

1 - Inferno Kit (included: 650mah pass-through battery, 1000mah battery, magma 510 atomizer, 2 - atomizer cones, USB cord, USB charger, USB wall-plug adapter)

2 - Tankomizers
2 - 5 pack of blank tanks
1 - carrying case
1 - stainless drip-tip
1 - 5 pack 24mg tobacco carts
1 - extra button cover

All this for just a hair over 100 bucks and free shipping to boot! After looking at multiple sites, it was the best deal I could find for everything I got. I can tank, drip, or use carts in a pinch if need be. It's 510 cartomizers will also fit it if I want.

They also have an awesome how-to video section that covers proper use, care, prep, etc. of your Inferno and Inferno Tank setup.

If you decide to use them, remember to use the promo code epuffdirect for 10% off first purchase!

Hope this helps!

Thank you for replying, Dougie. After lots of research, I have come to the conclusion that a tank style would be less hassle & less waste. A large battery would be best, and good vapor is a must. I think the Ego answers that call.

Dougie which one do you prefer the Ego or the Ego-T? Is the atomizer being built into the cone make the atomizer smaller than the normal Ego's?

can you interchange the atomizers between the regular Ego and the Ego-T? Like can I revert back to a regular atomizer and cartridge if I ever wanted to?

To lastofthebreed - - Thank you. That sounds awesome. Thank you for the tips, and allowing me to take advantage of your research before purchasing!

Not a problem. If you go that route, I strongly urge you to watch the how-to videos here : How-to's for the best eCig on the market! and watch the two videos on the Inferno and the Tank system and following the directions BEFORE trying to use it. It will probably save you alot of the head-ache I've seen others post about their tank systems.

Good Luck!

I have both. Started with the standard eGo and bought an eGo-T kit recently. I've been using the tank for a couple of weeks and I prefer it to the atty and cart.

Not all eGo batteries are the same. I suggest cignot for the kit because they have the eGo-T batteries which shut off with 5 quick clicks and then turn back on with the same. This eliminates the need for a button protector.

However, these batteries do have an automatic shutoff after about 7 seconds. So, If you prefer looooong hits, you may want to go with standard eGo batteries and button protectors.

If you go the Tank route and want standard batteries, clouds of vapor had them for the cheapest but was out of stock last I checked (few weeks ago). Cignot was the only vendor that sold the kit with the new batteries as of then.

The eGo T is fabulous. It's definitely a great choice. The Tank type atty of the eGo T is the same size as a standard eGo with the cone cover.
The batteries are the same, with the exception the newer ones have a shut-off so you can turn off the battery buy pushing the button 5X very quickly. But this being the case, you could also use a standard eGo atty, or any 510 atty on the eGo T batteries.
Good luck on your selection and vape on! :vapor:

Could I even use A 510 ATOMIZER AND CARTRIDGE if I wanted to for any reason?

Yup, the Inferno kit come with a 510 atty that can be used with carts. It's not what they recommend the unit be used for, but it works in a pinch. I personally prefer to drip if I'm not using the Tank atty or a carto. Carts just don't do it for me now that I have this bad boy.

Let me get this straight - - About this on/off button...Is this Volcano an automatic or manual? Do you press the button to drag, or just turn it on once, and drag as needed? In otherwords, how is the button used?

By 7 second shutoff do you mean cutoff while taking a drag, or the unit just shuts down completely. I'm a little confused.

The Volcano Inferno (and Ego) are manual batteries that you press a button to activate the atty to produce vapor. You press the button and hold each time you take a "drag". If you want a battery that lasts longer than 2 hours at a time, you almost HAVE to go manual from what I've been able to discover. I know I can go 10+ (not sure yet as I have yet to go dead) with my manual Inferno batts.

The on/off feature that has been mentioned is new for the Ego manual batt, where you can actually turn the battery completely off. That way even if you inadvertently press the manual button, nothing happens until you turn it back "on". I don't care for it myself, but to each their own.

The 7 second shut-off is also a safety feature. Again, in the event you accidentally press the button, like in your pocket, it turns itself off in 7 seconds. This keeps it from heating up the atty to points that could be dangerous.

Is it better to buy the standard Volcano (to get the sleeve to use with a regular atomizer), then buy a separate tankomizer to upgrade? That way you will always have the sleeve that comes with the regular Volcano to cover a regular atomizer if you happen to be using one.

That's the route I chose. I got the standard Inferno that comes with the 510 atty and cones, then bought 2 Inferno Tankomizers and some blank tanks. I did this so I had the option to drip or use carts if I wanted. It was cheaper than getting the Inferno-T and then buying the atty, cones, etc. Not much, but a little. Don't forget a drip tip as well. They're inexpensive.

Lastofthebreed -- Very awesome. You have answered all my questions!

Are these batteries sealed then? No openings for juice to accidently drip into them? What type of metals can you see that make up the batteries? I think I would go that route and get the items the way you did. it makes sense for what I want. I don't mind the shut off safety features, but you say they are only on the EGO-T brand not the Volcano?

Also the Volcano offers the Pass thru and ego-t does not correct? Thanks for all your help.
