Hey guys, real quick I looked for info on this and didn't come up with anything. I've been using the janty eGo without too many problems for a while now and just within the past 24 hours I've had 2 batteries do something weird.. I usually clean my LR atomizers by 1 cutoff cycle and a little air. Well this time, the light on the button flickered 3 times and now everytime i twist the atty in the thing fires without me pressing the button. 2 different ego batteries, all in the span of 24 hours..

Has anyone heard anything like this happening before? it's the only PV ive got, so now im having to twist on and off the atty to vape. :( heats up quick too.

If the LR atty has shorted and is less than 1.5 ohm you are really stressing an eGo batt. The LR 1.5's already tax them (anything less is even more taxing)and the failure mode you describe sounds like a bad mosfet on the board. There are a few posts around that describe this fault. I have and still do use LR's on my eGo batts and do so knowing that they will shorten the life due to more frequent discharge/charge cycles. I am also aware of the risk to the mosfet and use the LR's knowing the risks. The best way to drive an LR is with a true 3.7V mod but when I need something smaller I use the eGo's. I know this does not help you right now or fix your batts but I would not use the suspect LR atty until you can test it against a voltmeter.

Liv2Ski's absolutely correct. My BIL and I blew 7 batteries in a couple of days a while back while using LR atty's, 1.5ohms. But it's not actually the battery, it's the mosfet that goes.

Others on the forum say that 2.0ohms are OK but I haven't been game enough to try LR's since that time. Nothing quite like having your batteries dropping like flies!!!

Below is a link to another thread with the same issue, Scottbee gives a good explanation.

This is a shame to hear - I just ordered en eGo. Is it a problem that affects them all or did you have a defective one?

It's an issue with egos. Just don't use LR attys or cartos on your ego, and you'll be fine. If you DO use LR stuff on your ego, be aware of the risks. Might be fine for months, might kill it in an hour. I've been using a box mod and an indulgence pretty much exclusively for a couple months now... one of the nice things about mods is that they use generic l-ion batteries (in other words: CHEAP!). I get 900mah 3.7v batteries for my little home-built box for about $5 a pair... so if I kill one, it's really not that big of a deal.
