Alright, I am awaiting my Vamo and and another back up eGo from FastTech to arrive I am experiencing more and more issues with my current SLG ego-V V2 mega battery. It started a few weeks ago when one of my tanks wasn't working. After researching, I realized that the pin in the battery that supplies power to the clearo gets pushed down and some tanks can't properly connect.
To combat this, I took the advice to use a small flat head and slowly/gently push the battery pin up a little so it can connect. It worked good, but it got frustrating having to do it all the time. Anyway, today I no longer can get that trick to work on a couple of my tanks. I can't wait for these new batteries to arrive, but thought I would see if there was another way to get that pin set right? Can I take the battery apart and push it that way?
Both my hubby n' I use the Ego-V V2 Megas...and we love them. BUT, we've only had them since 5/25 (a little over a month), and BOTH of them developed incredibly loose/wobby and 'pushed down' battery posts. Mine bit the dust last night when I was trying to get an o-ring under the post to support it.
We are both over 50 and we are both extremely careful with our gear. We've have our Twists since April and we had no similar problems (even though we screwed everything down
much tighter when we first started vaping).
I really (really!) like the V V2's, and I'm probably-maybe gonna buy another. However, we will no longer allow
anything to touch/push on that battery post...instead we'll protect it by first screwing on a "510 to eGo" adapter, and screw our 'whatevers' directly into the adapter. That way the battery post will stay immobile & secure, and we can still top 'er off with the equipment of our choice.
Btw, after my post came off, I put it in a vice and pulled the top off (if you do that, be VERY careful). I couldn't see any way to secure the post from the 'backside', as the circuit board is tightly attached to the button - and there's no way you can even see the wiring from the board to the post from the backside - let alone manipulate a tool past all that).
'Sounds to me like it's still possible to get all the goody out of it, if you pull up the post and then keep it immobile by using the adapater. If you're not familiar with the 510-to-eGo adapater, here's the one from FastTech
https://www.fasttech.com/product/1284600, but you can get them for around $4 almost anywhere. (Be sure to check out the reviews/discussions...a LOT of folks use them to protect their battery post/pin AND to stop the inside threads from wearing thin).
The inside threads on my Twist have worn so thin I never know for sure if it'll secure my 510 gear (only 1 of the 4 adapaters I ordered would screw in tightly/securely enough to "hold")...so I'm thrilled about these adapters!
