EGO battery question, Please help~

rockin 8 of these between 4 vapers in the family for over 2 months with heavy use

one was a dud and died within 2 days and was quickly replaced (even return postage refunded)
we purchased them at just under $10 each...it appears prices have gone up or we caught a sale. None of us have had a battery die on us we keep both with us and swap back and forth...charge all at night in a charging station my husband built. I know that 2 months is not a long time but we did not expect much (at that cost) and have been very pleased.

Yes they do come on a slow boat from China and yes one of my orders was held up for almost a month in Hong Kong...but 3 orders have made it to San Fran and I expect them within days

Don't drain em all the way

That's not relevant to eGo class batteries since they are protected and shut themselves off when the battery voltage drops to 3.2 volts. There is no "drain em all the way" possible. It's not allowed to happen by design.

The biggest thing that kills eGo batteries in short order is running LR devices on them. The original Joyetech eGo batteries were never designed to run devices below 2.2 ohms and doing so voided the warranty. That, and the lower you dropped in resistance simply risked blowing the internal protection and terminating the battery period.

The current Joyetech circuit plays nicer with LR devices and won't blow the protection the first time it's exposed to a short, but using devices below 2.0 ohms is going to dramatically impact the overall battery lifespan.

Personally, I have four real Joyetech eGo batteries I bough in April 2011 and those were the only things I used - in rotation - for my first nine months of vaping. They all still work, but they never saw a device lower than 2.0 ohms either.

You can buy "where can I get the cheapest..." and take your chances. I have zero regrets about what I paid for those batteries or the fact that I got real Joyetech from a known authorized dealer. On the other hand the "where can I get the cheapest..." deal I got on a Riva kit with eGo batteries? One battery was dead within 3 charge cycles and the other one last 3 months of light use. Yeah, that was great money spent on that one chasing a cheap deal.
