Hi.
I have a question.
I readed in some threads here that charging an ego battery with an 510 charger would be ok.
I have an ego-T and my friend has an 510-T.
I forgot my charger in another city and tried using his charger in my ego-T.
At first everything seemed ok, but after 3 hours I heard a noise coming from the battery/charger.
The battery was really hot and a little wet.
Now the battery haves a strange smell, it ressembles the smell of tonner from laserjet printers.
The battery seems to be working but I'm afraid to use it. It is possible I will be vaping battery liquid if I try to use it?
I will only be able to get my charger at the end of the week, should I try to use his charger again but trying to charge less time?
I'm going to buy spare parts soon so this doens't happen anymore, anny help is welcome since I dont want to switch to analogs for the week when my battery ends.

510-T kits state that the 510-T batteries have to use their own charger. We have no idea why they do but your problem sounds dangerous. It sounds like the 510-T charger may be reverse polarity or something (which sucks - I certainly will never buy one).

I am no expert on vented batteries but that liquid may be dangerous.

If you are away from home then check VaporSearchUSA.com and see if you can get new equipment somewhere. (battery and correct charger)

Please, please don't use that battery! There are many posts about batts exploding, chargers and PT catching fire. Batteries should only be charged with their specific charger.

The simple saying, "When in doubt.. don't" should apply.

I'm so glad nothing more went wrong, ... as in Renzuli's above post.

I agree. Don't mix chargers, and don't use a battery that you're concerned about.

Out of curiosity, what did the noise sound like, and where was the moisture after?

The noise wasnt a big deal, its like when u plug something in the wall socket and it makes a little noise and a spark, I have a notebook charger that does a noise like that everytime I plug it in the wall socket =p

The moisture seemed to be all over the battery, I placed it above a desk and when I picked it the desk was a little wet.

Damn it it will take about 20-30 days till I get spare parts =/

My friend is already lending his spare to another friend so theres no chance we both will share a single 510 =/

Well guys thanks for ur help I will order more parts from health cabin and see what I do till I get them.

If you have any connections in the airline industry, and can get me tickets, I would be happy to bring all the mods to Brazil that you desire :)

/I can dream, anyways.

Would Liberty-Flights.co.uk ship to you? Maybe they would be quicker?

If you had a 510 battery-side threaded connector, you could go check here for ideas to build a 3.7v 510-threaded mod with commonly available parts. Those use separate standard industrial batteries that are charged in a separate external standard charger.
