Ego-C and battery life

I bought an Ego-C back in May of last year. Recently I ordered a new battery to replace one that snapped apart in my pocket. I was starting to have difficulty tasting my eliquids I DIY and thought it had something to do with me or the flavorings. When I tried the new Ego-C I could suddenly taste everything again vibrantly. Does anyone know the life span of an Ego-C? I'm going to find it a bit annoying if I have to buy a new battery every six months.

An eGo batt can last between six months to a year. FYI I always use the same charger that I get in a starter kit regardless if another charger has the amps and volts. I'd just rather play it safe

BTW if that is all you have spent on ecigs... Your doing very well compared to most everyone and myself in this community

i have ego batts i bought august 2011 and are still going strong,,but i rotate them between slow and fast charging on them

Yeah see, this is weird because I have some as well when I started vaping over a year ago and they still are little powerhouses .

Denali: what do you mean changing between fast and slow charging.

Factor52: I don't disagree. Hell 25 bucks for 6 months is a hell of a lot better than 40 bucks every two weeks for normal cigs.

T41CK: It's always possible the battery was just bad, but I wanted to see how everyone else faired with theirs.

I've read that the eGo style batteries are designed to last for approximately 250 charges; at that point they start to loose their charge very quickly. Your mileage may vary.

One of the reasons some vapors move to a mod is for the convenience of using replaceable, rechargeable batteries. The mods themselves are more durable than the eGo's in build and materials used, and the rechargeable batteries last a year.

does this apply to all batteries of this type? i just got a volt x2 from smokeless image (love it). should i be prepared to get a new battery twice a year or are they known to last longer?

I've had a couple of these batteries, 650 mAh, since April last year. I think I have about 80 - 100 charge/discharge cycles on each of them now (I bought other devices and batteries in the meantime, so the count is not higher). The eGo's are still going strong and I expect a lot more life out of them yet. They should be good for at least 300 cycles. More if you take it easy on them. Here's a good write-up on it.

What happens to a lithium ion battery with age is they lose the ability to hold a charge. While charged they put out pretty much the same power as a new one, they just need to be recharged sooner.

Baditude: Have any mods you recommend? So far I have been a fan of Ego-C's.

Bigsmke: Thanks, that was very informative. The odd thing is that it still had decreased taste even when "hot off the charger".

if you look at the charger for the ego style batts? some say 150mah output and the newer ones have 420mah[?]

thats the slow and fast chargers ,150's were designed for the old stick style batts

and before anybody says it don't work.it does work and has been since aug 2011,,i do the same with all my 18xxx batts too !
