Thanks for putting up the link to that video Heavyrocker! That was very very interesting.

I think I have to buy some 400 mesh and re-wick some failing ego-c atomizers that I have kicking around.

Yes I love the ego-c atomizers too, I used them for quite a while until I got my vivi nova. If they had a bigger tank I would still be using them daily - now it's just once in a while.

The only time I ever had trouble with the ego-c was when I bought some knock-off atomizers.

I learned pretty quick that they had to be the genuine joytech to work right.

You pulled out the wick from the eGo-C atomizer and stuffed in fibers pulled off the end of a Qtip?

I love my stock eGo-C setup. Even tried several clearos and a LR carto after reading a bunch of hype, thinking surely I must be missing out on something amazing. Nope. (Well, not for me anyhow.) Taste was too muted and everything feels too airy.

However, this Qtip business sounds interesting (if I'm understanding you right). Was it just more vapor, or did it make a recognizable difference in flavor/TH?

Yep,i just rolled up a small wick from a pure cotton q-tip and wrapped it with a tiny piece of tin foil, the tin foil is used just to make the cotton easier to in insert in the hole, you can leave the tinfoil on ,the taste is cleaner and vaps like train with great TH,this why ive been saying i love the ego, easy too maintain and it works great.

Heres a vid on even to replace the coil, not just the wick on the egoc, its in russian, but no need for sound, its all explained in the vid,my next project.

Repair Ego-C with cotton as wick -

My conclusion is the Jotytech ego c stock setup is what im happiest with.

Hi Heavyrocker,
I stopped smoking in June, after 40 years, with the joyetech ego-c. It works well. But after a month or so, I started using clearomizers for more liquid capacity. Then in Dec. after helping someone with wicks for the ego-c, i thought, i never did burn out a coil on the ego-c and the only thing bad was that after so long the wicks wouldn't "clean up". So, i have been replaceing the wicks with cotton yarn and using a needle threader to pull "double" through the "spike". Its working good. The nice thing about the "c" atty in doing this, when you take apart the atty, you can dry burn and not have to replace the wick.
Some call it old technology, but many still use and like:vapor:

Bamboo yarn works great too, proberly better that cotton,i want too try using a SS wick in the ego atty.

I was going too get the SS vamo, now with all the springs getting too hot it dont look good,i think now the EVIC is the way too go if you want a good mod with a decent price, you cat go wrong with Joyeteck products and they have 1 year warrantys, not like the vamos.I may as well get the chrome version of the vamo,id rather the vamo over the Evic.

LOL...me too.i popped out the inserts from the inside the mouth piece for more air flow, and they still dont leak.

Both of them? I seem to get juice in my mouth when I take out the bottom one.

Edit: hmmm, maybe not. It may have just been build-up right below that piece. Cleaned it out and it's hasn't seemed to happen again. :)

I just pop out the one closest too the end,i always keep my ego standing up in a leather pouch strapped to my computer desk, the tips are designed so the airflow goes tru the side channels inside the tank anyway,if you get leaks you may be drawing too hard,i find a long slow draw works good.BTW,if you install a cotton tip with the tin foil method, make sure the tin foil dont contact the coil,it will taste awful.I cant wait too try the SS wick .
