ego-c atomisers help

I've only had my ego-c around a week. After 3 days the first atomiser stopped working. My second one was fine until today when it started giving off a burnt taste. I know these things aren't long out but has anyone experienced anything similar and does anyone know of any resurrection / cleaning methods?


I put another new atomiser in last night and was still getting a bit of a burnt taste despite having also cleaned out the tank and the atomiser holder. It has lessened since. Does anyone know if the atomisers require a dry burn? I loved this thing when I got it last week (my first ego) but my enthusiasm is waning a bit.


Tried it today with LR atomisers. At first I thought the taste was a bit better (as described elsewhere) but I'm starting to think there's not a lot of difference. I'm vaping Liberty Flights Menthol Blend 24 mg VG. Is it anything to do with the juice? I'm also thinking there's still a slight burnt taste but I'm not sure if I just can't get the earlier burnt taste out of my head.

I am using PG menthol & no problems. You might just need to drip some in first. You should not need to dry burn now.
I think Kent C uses VG & posted clean "drop the atty in 151 proof clear, unflavored cheap vodka (or everclear) for 30minutes tops."

Your problem is the VG juice,start vaping PGs.

What batteries are you using?

I've had a few batteries that don't connect with the atty - I thought 'atty gone' but then tried it on another battery and it was ok. Also Riva batts and vv eGo's can run hot. If you're using an eGo batt with a regular c atty, then there should be no burn. But if you've burned the wick/coil with a higher voltage, then it needs cleaned or you won't get rid of the burn taste. See Sir Vette's post.... or the 'tips' thread in this forum. But if no joy, then it's likely the ejuice - try another. VG works just fine IF it's properly diluted with distilled water at around 80:20 - you might ask the vendor or start DIYing.

Make sure everything is seated - the atty head on the holder and then the caps on the tanks and the tank into the atty holder/chamber - tap mouthpiece on table if needed. I do a 'thumb and ring finger span' to seat the tank.

Thanks for the replies. I'm using the joyetech batteries that came with the ego-c. I'm allergic to PG but have some distilled water in the house so will try diluting. Will also try sticking the burnt atty in vodka for 30 mins. I'm actually vaping a different pg juice just now with the LR atomiser and that's free of the burning taste. Taste is still disappointing though.

I have a few lighter flavors that get washed out with the lr atty head. But most tobacco and coffee flavors should do well on it. For the lighter flavors the SR atty works best. And if you're truly allergic to PG then, find a good VG based one or make you're own. At totally wicked, they have VG nic base a good VG (Aqueous Glycerin) that is a 85:15 VG:H20 mix and flavoring. Or try direct from Decadent Vapours (UK) for premix or those same components - Nick from DV makes the TW stuff as well.

seamonster, I may end going down that road but having used ce2's (which gave a good vape even with m40x's but were too fiddly) I was hoping these easy to fill tanks would spare me that.

I have to respectfully disagree with Vakill, all I use is 100% VG and rarely have a problem, some super dark juices like a few Johnson Creek I've used will foul an atty a bit quicker and require more frequent atty cleaning, still usable though.

At the moment I've only used two juices. Turk & USA mix and Menthol Blend (both Liberty Flights). I'm having no problems with the former and had no problems with the latter (over 3 days) until I changed to a new bottle. I tried mixing the two together 75% T&U, 25% MB and still got the burnt taste (to a lesser degree) but that went after I returned to 100% T&U. I don't know what to make of it but I've now used 5 atomisers (only 1 is broke right enough) and I'm only 9 days in. When I got this I was hoping the days of having half working items all over my table were gone forever. ;-(

Sod it. Another one bites the dust with the burnt taste. I'm now on my 6th atomiser which means they're lasting me 1.5 days on average. Even if they can be cleaned they're not worth £4 a pop. Cartomisers for me asap.
