Ego-C Battery Failures - grrrr!

I have been using the Ego-C (with the side button, not the twist) since I bought a starter kit in May of last year. The original batteries lasted fine - in fact, I still use one as a backup. I bought two replacement batteries (1000mAh) from Vapour Solutions in Victoria BC in July; they both failed in August. (They stopped igniting the fluid and would no longer charge.) The store told me that there is no warranty and that batteries simply fail - buying more is just part of "maintaining the lifestyle". (seriously?) I bought two more batteries; one just failed with the same symptoms. (It lasted two weeks.)

Are there known issues with this model of battery? Is Vapour Solutions blowing e-smoke up my ....? Is there a better solution for replacement batteries?

The store says that if I send my broken batteries back, they'll have a tech look at them and see if they can be fixed. If they can, there will be a $5 charge (plus shipping). At this point I am unwilling to spend more money on these faulty batteries. Is repair a feasible option?

Joyetech doesn't list them as a distributor. They have "eGo-c" (non-joyetech) and "Joyetech eGo-c" listed in their battery section. Joyetech has a 6 month warranty on all their products except LR attys. And the vendor should state that. But the vendor's warranties even for Joyes - where they, the vendors, replace them is much shorter. And this vendors warranty is rather 'tight' imo.

Frankly I'd send the last four back to the vendor with the cheapest shipping for you ($2-3) and a note when each were purchased and ask them to check for defects. Chances are they'll say that the are nonr, but there's an outside chance they'll do something. If not, order true Joyes at cignot, heaven gifts, lite ecig, and other authorized Joye dealers....

....or take your chances with non-joyes at fast tech for really low prices but figure on replacing them sooner.

I agree it sounds like a center pin problem. Wouldn't be the first time. Also, I think I'd find a better vendor that appreciate their customers. If someone treated me like that, they'd never get another dime of my money.

Thanks for your advice everyone! We were able to resurrect one of the batteries by adjusting the centre pins, but the others are still NFG. As you advise, I am going to switch to a better supplier than Vapour Solutions and use real Ego batteries.

Just for example.... I looked up the order... I have two stainless Joyetech eGo-c upgrade batts that I got from heaven gifts on April 4, 2012. I have two batts for one flavor Lotus at the computer where I spend some time

Just in the last few weeks, their charge cycles became noticeably shorter and I'm getting some of the led button fade that has happened to me before on dying eGos. Three weeks ago they were like any other new upgrade batt, so I'm going to track how long before they actually die.

I bought 2 Stamm 1100 mah batteries from MadVapes July 8. They were my starter kit to quit smoking. I used them non-stop 18 -20 hours a day. They hold a charge under heavy vaping for a full day to a day and a half. One of them started acting funky after 3 months. It would only last me 5 or 6 hours and the button led quit working. It finally gave up the ghost about a month ago. The other one is still going strong. I use it for a back-up to my K-6 and Ego VV1 1100. MadVapes sells these batteries for $12 & IMO you can't beat them! I've sent several people there for them and everyone has been very happy.
