In regulated mode it performs like a standard eGo, delivering a constant 3.3 volts.

In unregulated mode it delivers whatever voltage is coming off the internal battery. That means on a freshly charged battery it could put out as high as 4.2 volts, and the voltage will drop as the battery is used, until it shuts off at 3.2 volts.

Calling it a "variable voltage" battery is really a misnomer. You can't vary the voltage, you can only pick between a fixed 3.3 volts or "whatever the battery is putting out" volts. But it does give you some added flexibility.

I've owned them myself for quite awhile. Very good quality.

Unregulated mode gives very nice performance for a cartomiser- something I like running hot. Keeps a good even voltage @ 3.7volts for most of the charge.

The other cooler mode might be nice for clearomisers.

I liked mine as a Passthrough. vape plugged- in, or just charge it that way, unplug and walk away.- nicer than a common ego charger.

Has better safety circuits than many other egos= peace of mind and longetivity.

I've gotten 2 years out of them and still running strong.

I use them almost exclusively and have since they came out. I run my strong flavors on the constant mode (3.3-3.4V) on a 1.8ohm clearo (Kanger T3/T3S/T3D and the lighter flavors on the same setting with a 2.2ohm clearo. On rare occasions, if I'm getting a tight draw, I'll put the batt into the variable mode which gives a bit more heat and tends to keep the coil cleaner but it can burn some flavors, so I'll do that 'for a while' on the stronger flavors when the draw gets tight then go back to the constant mode. And I might mention that it so far has handled the dual coil Kanger T3D well. Something that you have to watch with eGo's usually but they're holding up well with the T3D at 1.5 ohms. When the 1.8 ohm T3D coils come out, I'll be getting some. For lighter flavors, I use the 2.0 ohm with the dual coil T3D.

I have several still going after a year and a half and 4 at 2 years plus, but they're fading. I lost only 2 from shorts on attys and even then, you have to short them twice for them to die - that's good short protection and the charge protection is tops - no explosions with the eGo-c or eGo-c upgrades.

I also have the upgrade passthrough in the car. Stays hooked up.... in constant mode. In variable mode it vapes at 4.0-4.2V hooked up.
