i have had my ego c about a month and just alittle curious. I use reduced PG juice from juicyvapor.com, 50% red hot cinnamon, yeah its a little sweet. So how often do yall clean your attys? I have found that about every 2 tanks my coils all gunked up. That about right?

Also, how do yall go about cleaning? I have been soaking in PGA i for about a day then popping off the spike for a dry burn, then rinse with the PGA again. Tried just burning then going right to vaping and it as awful. Does boiling work better or about the sam

I have and ego-c too. Came with a 5 pack of attys. First 3 attys I used them about 3-5 days (about a tank and half a day) I tried to pull them apart but lost all three wicks. Now, I take them apart daily, do a dry burn, burn the wick with a lighter and put it back to gether. I also take the tank off half way threw the tank and take a few toots directly on the cone with no tank. Been having good luck with this. Nice long slow draws too.

That said, I ordered 2 packs of attys from Ovale and 7 of the 10 attys produce nothing but dry burnt hits. There is something not right with these attys. I have 3 still in the pack so I am guessing they are bad too. I have an order with cignot for some atty's hoping they are like the first 5 I had. So my advice is take care of the working attys you have. From searching the web I see other have found that the replacement attys are questionable at best.

so you dont rinse after you burn em? Well i just cant believe it, maybe i'm just fickle. If you still have the attys that taste burnt you may want to try adjusting the wick. There is a you tube video on how its done. If i remember correctly, shortening the exposed portion in the spike fixes the dry scratchy hit. Andon the off chance you get leaky attys, you'll need to extend it just a bit

hot cinnamon is tough on attys (and paint ;) ) so is absinthe. I skip the dry burn but use PGA (151 proof vodka) and take a small qtip (a makeup sponge on at stick) to the inside of the pot - rinse again with pga (no water) which dries quickly, reassemble.... with most of my ejuices (mainly DV VG diluted) I can go a few weeks plus without cleaning. I don't clean on a regular basis but only if the draw tightens. So far with the c and using SR attys, I haven't gotten any burnt tastes. LR may be different but my flavors taste best with SR's.

well guess i'll just have to accept eating up attys cuz i love love love my red hot speramint. So your sayin you just wpe down your coils wiyh a qtip soaked in PGA?

I separate the spike plate from the coil first, then soak for a half hour - then take the small qtip to the pot being careful not to hit the coils or connections. And Nick - if the 'eating up attys' happened with my two favorite flavors - I'd feel the same way :thumb: and it would cost me.... ;)

I love my Ego-c, however, have been having HORRIBLE luck with cleaning the heads. I've watched a zillion youtube videos & tried the boiling (used instant-hot) & the little rubbery thing on the bottom of the heads expanded to the point that it wouldn't fit back into the thingy (hi-tech term) that holds it. I've used the ultra sonic - was able to save a few. I've had the best results w/baking soda & vinegar; nasty mess but saved a few - also the vodka soak, saved a few. Sooooo, about 6 weeks ago, I ventured into the world of clearos & started rotating between approx. 4 different types along w/my C. I had much better luck cleaning (very simple) the clearos & reusing them than I have w/my C. BTW...soaking the C head BEFORE removing the plate gives you a better chance of not losing the wick. Long story short - rotating has definately saved some dollars & a lot of frustation; I'm still using my C's & just ordered the B version...Love the system...
