Hi there-

Been vaping for a month or two now. Found this forum and lurked for a while but now decided to dive in and actually post.

Interesting thread here. Just bought me an eGo-C setup a few days ago after reading about it in this forum. Statted out using KR808s. Liked the quality of the smoke but was not happy with the battery life. That's what intrigued me about the eGo-C.

Got to say that I'm much more satisfied with the eGo battery. Not as happy with the smoke- not as much vapor. But I'm not picky. To me it's a trade-off. Now reading herein I'm learning some things. For instance-- there are cartomizers for the eGo? I wonder if hat might give me the combination I'm looking for- longer battery life with a smoke more like I'm used to with the 808? I'm sure thre are other things totry as well.

All this information in the forum is mind-boggling, even for an engineer like myself!

Very intrigued that I don't apparently have to stick with the same setup that came in the box. I'm up for some experimentation.

where are you getting soft tank caps?
I didn't bother to get them eventually. i bought some Ego-W tanks (with pen caps) and like it a lot. perhaps will get back to C in the future. so, sorry, but i don't know where to get them.

..... Not as happy with the smoke- not as much vapor. But I'm not picky..
the amount of vapor depends on the type of liquid you vape {how much is the VG percentage}.
a couple of weeks ago i filled my ego-c with an Hangsen liquid sample i received before driving to work. i'm not sure but i believe it's a 50%PG-50%VG

A few minutes later, I was in the car, waiting for the traffic light to turn green, i took the ego-c and begun vaping.
when i exhaled, i was amazed! i simply had a thick cloud coming out of my mouth and i could barely see through the windshield. it was about 20 degrees Celsius so it wasn't the cold to blame. i kept vaping that liquid and the results were always the same. thick clouds.. tons of vapor. I would suggest that you try different types of liquids before jumping into conclusions.

I have an ego-c that ive been using for the past few months and after a few months of practice, I love it. I would like to share my experience to make you feel this way. The best advise is to learn how to properly clean your attys and when to clean them (not letting them get to the point of little to no return).

How I like to clean: disassemble atty (using a small knife pry open), gently clean wick. Wash off atty piece with coil. then go ahead and connect it back to the system without assembling wicking system or tank yet. i then flick my ego to use centripetal force to force excess water out. I then dry burn it a few times until almost all coil turns red. however, i dont let the coil ever stay red for more than 1-2 seconds. I then put 1/2 drop on both coil and wick. Assemble everything, and you're good to go.

When to clean: at first signs of any difficulty to pull i clean my atty. it you wait to long, coil will start to burn the wick, reducing the amount of absorbent material available for e-juice, giving you a burned, horrible taste. if atty becomes too far gone you will have to replace. ive had the same addy now for 2 months straight, so they CAN be taken care of and last.

Another key to all this is purchasing a high quality juice. I've purchased some cheap e-juices and have noticed quicker build up on attys. Also Ive notice with some darker juices dirty the attys quicker too. Personally I enjoy using Copper Creek because there is very little color and i find myself able to vap 10-15ml of juice before a clean.

Lastly, try higher pg percentage juices. If your smoking sessions tend to be on the long side, the more viscus liquid will wick quicker. Even more lastly, at first taste, actually first hint of burning, stop engaging battery and take one or two dry inhales. You should see 1 or 2 small bubble float up letting you know you are pulling liquid through to the coil. Basically IF IT TASTES LIKE IT'S BURNING, IT IS, SO STOP for a minute.

Hope this helps someone someday. Good luck, don't give up, it's worth it!

My process for the ego-c goes like this.

Wiped down new atty real good.

Blow through both ends to get oil out and wipe down again.

Fill tank to 90%

Assemble everything.

Take 2 or 3 heavy draws without hitting button. Look for bubbles to pop up in tank. This shows it's wicking properly and priming the atty.

Take a few normal puffs. Do not inhale. Just blow it out right away.

Vape normal. At this point there should be no burnt taste. And monitor the tank here and there early on to see if bubbles are popping up after almost every draw.

This is exactly right the only thing I would add is if after this you still have a burnt taste just lightly push the wick down like one or two millimeters in the spike. 90 % of the time just the first steps will be gold but if not the wick is too high. if its leaking big time then the wick is too low, I should also add that if you are down to a 1/4 OF LIQUID in your tank refill it because any less than that and it will likely leak through the breath holes below the base. Some attys come out of the package perfect and last several weeks over a month even, however some just need a little adjustment. I use the second smallest screw driver in my glasses repair kit wich is slightly smaller than the diameter of the spike. This has worked for me twice now and I hope it works for you. I will also note that a fully charged battery with a clean connection and a 60-70 PG base with 18 mg nic strength gives me large vapor and enough Throat Hit to compare with analogues.
I find that I am getting great flavor from the eGo C alot better than a cigar or cigarette...

Hmph... Reading issues people had with eGo-C, I'm wondering if I have the same device.
I use eGo-C as my "on the road" device. I don't do any of the rituals described here (apart from regular cleaning of the atomizers), and I have almost zero leaking, never have a burned taste, and occasionally have dry hits when using thicker liquid combined with chain vaping.
For what its worth, its joyetech device, with their atomizers.

I've had my Ego-T for about 6 weeks and love it. I did have some problems in the beginning with tanks leaking but it was end-user error  I've since bought an LT and use my joyetech attys/tanks on my LT all the time without problem. They are sooo easy to fill at a red light when I'm caught short!

In regards to cleaning...I'm all about keeping things easy...I throw my attys in an ultrasonic jewlery cleaner using vodka as the cleaning solution, run as many 3 minute cycles as I can remember, blow them out, run a little water through, blow them out again and leave them to dry overnight. This way, nothing to take apart or put back together and works GREAT!
