I has a ego c twist 510 clearomizer unit and I am totally new to this and I actually love it I have never had a dry it yet or don't really know what a dry it is but if you keep your liquid sloshing around in the tank you should be good i like the 20mg 70/30 pg/vg try that it works great in my clearomizer let me no how you make out

I haven't tried the twist yet. I have a surplus of ego batteries from all 3 generations that definitely have tons of life left in them but when I have to switch out I will definitely give them a try. I love the ego batteries, never had a problem with them, the atomizers apperently are just terrible.

I have experienced every hassle that's mentioned in this thread. OP needs to get a rebuildable atomizer, rather than stay on the atomizer-cartomizer merry go 'round. For the most part they all taste bad & perform without consistency.

I've only been vaping a few months & began w/an ego-c starter kit. Makes me cry seeing all the other bits I've purchased since, but yesterday got a Vision Eternity rba. Don't think I'll buy another since the design is made for those ego-c plastic mouthpiece tank insert things, but I'll probably not buy another ato-carto again. The taste from the poly fill is bad, and my Vivi Nova doesn't taste much better.

The title of this thread deals with frustration & losing hope. I've been there! Why the fudge is something that's designed to help you in a time of need have to be so difficult? When I'm having a nic fit the last thing I want is a battery or ato-carto issue. Talk about wracking the nerves! And why do so many ato-carto's taste so bad? Our sense of taste improves every day that we don't smoke. Why hasn't this industry addressed these concerns? I don't get it. Seems like there's a big market for these products. As a forum ECF has more members & daily activity than any large forum that I've been to!

Sorry for the rant. Really seems to me like only a select few vendors & demographics w/in this hobby take it seriously, and that makes it tough for the average person to find the real ecig vaping products. Guess I see this as more from a medical viewpoint. Been cig free for nearly 3 months.

I have an ego-C type B, I have to adjust the wicks and have cleaned them already (Had this setup for 2 weeks). A vodka bath for the atomizer heads and the tanks is a good thing when changing juices, also taking the atomizer head apart and cleaning the wick with a q-tip and some vodka and making sure the wick is right on top of the coil has helped mine have less dry hits. Note that after rebuilding let them sit for a bit to get the juice back down in the coil. Shake them, do pulls without holding the button, and don't inhale the first few (sometimes even 10-20 puffs). I occasionally still get a dry hit but not NEARLY as much as before, I changed juices alot, and my atomizers were like ... and tasted like poo, and wouldn't wick properly, after soaking overnight in vodka, they work better than new, and also 2 that I thought were bad werent! The wick just needed adjusting!

Here's a Tutorial to rewick or clean the ego-c atomizer. This is not my work, props to the creator! eGo-C Atomizer Head Re-Wick Tutorial - YouTube

NOTE: Don't remove the wick if you dont have any to replace it with, otherwise just pop the spike out and clean the coil underside of the wick and give the coil a little dry burn without the spike on to burn the crap off!

Hope this helps!

Thanks Dale! If I have a crazy urge to start tinkering with my gear I will definitely give your method a shot. I have tried cleaning ego-t attys with rubbing alcohol before and no success. To date the ego-t is the worst product I have used so far, I did like the ego-C a lot better, when they work. So like I said, if I get the urge, I will give it a go.

*UPDATE-

Ok...so I got my new gear and for the most part so far so good. Things are definitely working far better than the ego-c attys that came with the kit (no surprise there. LOL!) Ok so first things first, I am using 900 mAh ego batts and a silver bullet at 3.7v 2600 mAh. I have tried all the clearomizers and cartos I ordered on each unit and have had a much better experience but I am not quite there yet.

*I will note that I have had some liquid from Blue Mist Vaping that I once loved but it is close to reaching the 2 year mark since I bought it and I have to say that this particular juice definitely (at least for me) does not have a 2 year shelf life as many vapers say liquids may have. Don't know about other liquids but the 16mg 100% VG Caramel Tobacco and 16mg 100% VG Rootbeer liquids (stored in a room temp/dark place) did not stand the test of time. Good vapor, bad taste, smelled fine, just not as sweet and marvelous as they once did. They have found a new home in the trash.

So... I tested my new equipment up with 2 juices, Vaperite's Organic Honeydew 12 mg 50pg/50vg and a Watermelon 12mg 50pg/50vg that was a gifted sample from Freedom Smokes.

First, up the Vision V3 (long wick) clearomizer. On the ego- it produced good vapor and wicked well all the way down to the bottom of the tank. Fantastic! However, not getting very much flavor if at all but can gladly report no burnt taste, even at the bottom. This could very well be because the liquids I received need to steep. The honeydew even with a weak flavor is still refreshing and quite good. I have a sneaking suspicion that the honeydew if it decides to steep well is going to out of this world with the right gear. I don't have the luxury of waiting to find out as I only have one other liquid that is from Innovapor. I can't stand it. I don't like the flavor and if I vape at 24mg, I get nic overload. Could the flavor on my new liquids be lacking because they are organic? I doubt it since I have heard so many rave reviews of organic liquids. Overall the vision was far better than I the ego-c attys and much more consistent, a dry hit here and there but nothing to really complain too much about. I don't have 510/ego adapter so I wasn't able to try the vision on my SB.

Next up, the mini Vivi Nova. I like this tank a lot. But same thing, very little flavor. I have seen a few youtube reviews of this tank and seen that it has great vape production on VV mods and the SB but am not getting those results on my SB at 3.7v fully charged. It performs pretty much the same on my ego batts, slightly better on the SB. No burnt taste either. I got the thread cover sleeve and really like the overall look but looks aren't as important to me as the vape experience. Ego-C atty beaten again hands down. However, I am very weary about this tank after seeing the melting issues GrimmGreen had on his SB after using the full 3.5mL version. Fingers crossed this doesn't happen.

On to the cartos-
The Smoketech LR single coil- I like these. I used the cap filling method and no problems. A few primer puffs and I was ready to go. I don't really know if there is really any point in comparing the SB at 3.7 v to the ego-C batts because they are the same voltage but I digress. Good vapor, good performance but less flavor than the already lacking flavor from the tanks. No burnt taste. Great! Do I like using poly fill again, um, NO! Would I still choose these over the ego-C attys? Absolutley. Will I order more of these? Not sure yet. I would like to try the Boges and compare them but from reviews I have read, boges have changed for the worse as of late so maybe the smoketechs are the better option. Who knows?

Lastly, to conclude this ever long post, the Smoketech LR dual coil cartos-
Ok, pretty sure I hate these maybe its because I am vaping at 3.7v, but very little vapor, better flavor with the watermelon for sure but dry hits through and through. Its actually quite painful and they run very hot and get there pretty quickly. This may be normal but the crackle on these things is off the charts. First time using a dual coil, so I have no experience to compare these to. But as of right now, can't stand them.

Overall, everyone's suggestions were very helpful, and I am glad that I ordered these items because its been at least a year or two since I have sat down and really done any research on the new advancements since I started my vaping ventures over 3 years ago. I definitely haven't found my sweet spot yet but I haven't had an analog in 15 days so these and my vaping is far more satisfying and successful. I would really like to try a vape at 5v but not sure if that is the answer either, especially if the dual coil experience is anything like vaping at 5v. Is that even an indicator?

I mentioned that I have been positively experiencing nic overload. I am still toying with this because I got 12mg liquid. I did mix some of the Innovapor 24mg with these liquids as test because I seemed to be vaping ALL DAY and couldn't put my pvs down. Nic overload, no matter what If I stay at 12mg I don't feel satisfied. I know you have to vape more to equate to the amount of a pack of smokes but I still feel like I am overdoing it. I haven't found a good balance, I would love to use no nic when I can't stop but so far, haven't found one that is any good. Which sucks royally because I would eventually love to get down to 0 nic. Maybe I still need to exercise some form of discipline to prevent this from happening. Psychosymatically I feel like "Hey, I am not smoking! It doesn't matter how much I vape." or I am simply a fiend. haha.

To wrap up, the suggestions worked and at least now I know I can be successful with vaping and be analog free. The longest I have ever been able to vape successfully is 4 months. With the new gear I have no doubt I can beat that timeframe. I know its a long post but hopefully it helps other discouraged souls out there that have had the issues I've had. Thank you all once again for your suggestions and support. I was a terrible god awful chain smoker for close to 20 years and vape even more than I smoked. I still have a lot of knowledge and experience to gain with vaping but the road is so much easier when I know I have the forum to lean on.

Hey there, all the responses here are great and I agree, your Ego bat with a clearo tank and you'll be back in business, that way all you'll have to invest in are the tanks at this point, main thing is don't give up!! :)

Thank you for your response. Since recieving my tanks i have had much better success. 15 days analog free! Since I got my new gear, experience has been much better.

hellcat, I feel your pain man. I'm new to this too. The first thing I can add, is I am glad I didn't go the weird psuedo-atty eGo route. I started off with clearos, and am glad that I did. They're not perfect, and sometimes will burn, but that's my fault for chain vaping.

The second thing I did was upgrade from the eGos to a Vamo. A world of difference. Being able to control and fine tune the watts is an awesome experience. My Twist just wasn't up to the task.

The thrid thing I did was to go from clearos to Vivi Novas. Wow. Those + the Vamo made the experience just that much better.

The rest is just finding juices you like, which can be hard. For every one that I like, there are three that I don't.

Let's recap: Clearo or Nova = no punching, no squeezing; just fill and go. Vamo gives you more power and better consistency overall. More run time and different battery configurations is also a plus.

I hope you find something that works for you. I, myself, am a nic fiend too. I was a pack+ a day, + all the Snus I could muster. I already feel better, and have cut out the Snus completely. In the last three days, I've had maybe five smokes, and that number is dropping too.

Good luck!

Never had to much of an issue with eGo's have a twist and a k, and use a 306 atty with cannon dripping, just killed my 1st drip system 510 with driptip it lasted 6 weeks . All I can think is maybe you need to find a new supplier? or might just have bad luck or maybe even doing it wrong, since we can't get there to inspect can't say for sure but good luck.

I think the clearos and tanks that I have now are definitely working for me and have been completely consistent so I am really happy. I really think the liquid I ordered needs to steep for a while. The other thing I am thinking is that my battery in my SB may need to be replaced, its a least 2 years old and it sat around for at least year with no charge. Its definitely not user error. now that I am using tanks and clearos the majority of the time I definitely see a vast improvement. I just tried another flavor from vaperite that I ordered and it has much more flavor than the honeydew and is vaping really well. I think some of these liquids will be awesome after they have a week or two to steep. I am also going to try a fresh 18650 batt for my SB because I typically use that more than anything else. I am really liking the mini nova so far both for performance and easy of use.
