I just received the 1000mAh ego-C twist and was really excited to try it. Put a vision on it and it gives me three blinks. Seems the battery shipped uncharged. So, I got my 4.2v 420mA usb charger out and screwed it on. Nothing happens.....no blinks and the light on the charger stays green. Thinking that it might not be making a connection, I pulled out the middle connector from the charger a little bit, but still no change in color and no blinking. I tested the charger with an ego battery and it charges. Does the ego-c twist charge with a different charger or do I have a dead battery? Someone please help. I want to try the twist so baaaad:p

Hi, Chucky. When exactly did you get it? Don't forget that if the battery is dead you can return it within 7 days, so open a ticket at GotVapes Help Center and Knowledge Base, just in case it really has bit the dust.

But - did you turn it on? It usually ships in the OFF position, so you have to press the button 5 times rapidly to turn it on.

LOL I thought one of my batteries was gone forever the other day, but a friend reminded me to try the 5 clicks and it was in fact just turned off! I usually work from home so I don't turn them off much, it didn't even cross my mind!

Happened to me a couple of times too, especially when I first open the package. :D

Hi Briar,

I just ordered the twist yesterday and got it today (in Houston). Yeah, I tried that too. Clicked 5 times and no light. I put on an atomizer or cartomizer and I get 3 blinks off the bat. I press the button and get 3 blinks every time. I think the battery is totally drained and DOA.

I am wondering if the reason it's not charging is that your charger is 420 mah and 4.2V instead of 500mah and 5V. The latter is what I'm using, and I think that's the norm. Not 100% sure though. Do you have a 500 mah charger? Ack, you must be really frustrated...

That might be the case Briar, but this is the same charger for ego-t 1300 maH. I tried 3 different chargers. Unfortunately, I do not have a fast charging 5v 500mAh. Aren't these suppose to work with the ego-t chargers?

Anyone out there using 4.2V 420mAh chargers out there for this thing? Maybe Bad or Dan knows?

Yep, we'll have to ask Bad. He might actually be asleep now, unbelievable as it may sound. :D

Chucky, I just investigated: it has to be the 500 mah, which is where your problem lies, most likely. You'll have to get another charger.

Are you talking about the wall wart or the usb charger? I have 2 twists, and they charge fine on the ego usb charger which is rated at 4.2v 420ma. The wall wart needs to be 5vdc @500ma or higher.

You need to use the Joye Ego Fast Charger (500mah) to get a full charge. Many people try to use their basic ego 420mqh charger and it isn't strong enough to give a full charge and takes triple the amount of time to charge. Even when the 420mah says my Twist is charged, I will put it on the 500mah and it will continue to charge for about another half hour and is then fully charged.

HI Chuck - If you did the fick clicks rapid turn on/off (make sure the five clicks are within 1.5 seconds) and it is still not working just submit a ticket and I can arrange an RMA for you. Actually our Joyetech products have a 14 day exchange warranty period...

i have the twist and use the 4.2v 420mAh chargers no problem. IF it needed the 5v charger then the 4.2 would not charge it correctly so i don't think that's the problem. i have other batteries than use a 5v charger (think stingray ect) and they wont charge all the way with the 4.2 ego chargers.
honestly i doubt the 80 mA difference would have any noticeable difference. 500 mA might charge a tiny bit faster.
i would be worried about putting in 5v though if they are meant for 4.2 and if the chip in the twist is just a little off it could possibly overcharge the li-ion (charging above 4.2v will damage the battery cell)
personally i make sure i only use my 5v chargers with the couple of batts they came with that were designed for them. i charge all my ego(s) (twist included) on the 4.2v ;)

Well, you gentlemen are probably right... My old dongle didn't work at all on an under-powered USB port, but it's probably not the same thing, yes?

It probably was the post or the thing was dead in some other way. It's kinda academic now, since Danno offered to exchange it.

Although the charger should be 500 mAh, the battery should take a slow charge with the charger you have. Chances are high that the positive post is not making contact. If you have a 510-510 adapter, see if it will charge with the adapter on.

Thanks Danno! And yes, I've done a rapid five clicks within 1.5 seconds and the button never lights up. I will send in a ticket.
