Hey folks,
I'm still a relative noob and am still searching about trying to find my vape. Currently I've been using the eGo 1000mAh C Twist batt with the EMDCC from Smok Tec. These are decent, but inconsistent according to the juice. I'm one that likes a cloud when vaping. Now I read on ST web site that using low resistance cartos will shorten the life of my batt. Question 1- is the Twist a "safe" batt to be using & if so what voltage should it be set to? Question 2- I'm looking and reading about tanks, but there's sooo much out there. I seem to understand the J Tank is primo, however is it still on the market & does it fit the Twist batt? Which tank system will work well with my batt?

Again here are my vaping priorities: 1 clouds, 2 flavor, 3 TH, 4 simplicity

Any help is appreciated. Oh, BTW. Do some juice PG/VG mix %'s affect the EMDCC?

Noobs sure ask a lot of question!

Actaully using a battery at all shortens its life, but a low resistance DCC can be a higher current drain than the battery material can handle well. Generally it is not a danger of explosion with these types of batteries, just a matter of early death for the battery.

Volts/ohms = amps. I think it is best on Egos to keep it under 2 amps since the button switch itself is probably not rated high enough. With a 2 ohm carto, I try to keep it at around 3.8V. Sure you can push them, and they will probably be fine for a while, but that switch is not designed to handle 2+ amps all the time.

I've never heard of an ego, or ego-type batt exploding, as that is 1. rare anyway, and 2. seems to be limited to stacked-battery tube mods. I think the twists have an auto-shutoff for when the amps are too high...the carto will just stopped vaping mid-draw. But the harder you push them, the shorter the battery and switch life will be.
