I haven't been happy with the eGo C setup because of constant leaking no matter what I tried, and that lovely burnt taste ... so I bought some 1.5 ohm dual coil cartos from MVS to try out. The battery I have is a 650 mAh eGo-c Upgrade Passthrough, and I bought the eGo-C top parts ala carte. The juice was MVS Orange Cream, 1.8% nic, and 50/50 VG/PG. P.S. I was using a fresh, burned in eGo-C type B LR atty.

So my juice and cartos came today, and after I thawed the juice (it was -7F here and it looked like jello in the bottle) I filled one and ripped it for half the day to burn it in. Then I did a head-to-head test between both systems on both voltages. The cartos put out more, cooler and better tasting smoke than the eGo-C system. The eGo-C also gives a much harsher rip with a sort of chemically artifact I can feel on the roof of my mouth. And the cartos give a better TH, and I got a nic buzz off them. toward the end of the test, the eGo-C system started gurgling.

So the clear winner today is the SmokTech cartos. Looks like the eGo-C works is going to be keeping my V2cigs stick battery company in the dark hole I keep my emergency stuff in.

To make the batt look better with cartos, I use the eGo drip shield I got from CloudsofVapor.com and an aluminum drip tip. Kinda looks like a Sonic Screwdriver now.

Just a few comments - from experience, the SR attys are better than the LR attys for the eGo-c for the burning. The hard caps are better on the B type tanks than the soft caps for leaking. Power vaping almost any pv can result in leaking but esp. with the eGo-c atty/tank. If you split up your vaping time among 2 or 3 or more eGo-c's there's a lot less problems - ejuice is able to hold it's viscosity and coolness.

Also, if you are using the eGo-c upgrade passthrough in the 'vv mode' and keeping it connected, you'll be vaping at around 4-4.2V most of the time. 4V with a 1.5lr eGo-c atty is 10-12 Watts - that's pretty hot and will burn most ejuices other than perhaps expresso/coffee.

And the eGo-c system isn't as good for TH than the EMDCC's.

Thanks for the comments. I was wondering what the true voltage of the passthrough mode was. And I only used that mode for this comparison since the cartos seem to be able to take it well, and I have it, so why not give it a try? The cartos didn't give a burnt taste at all during that test, neither did the eGo-C system, but the vapor from the the eGo-C setup was uncomfortably harsh.

As for cycling 2-3 eGo-C systems, if that works for others, great, but it's not likely I'll buy 2 more systems I don't like to see if it gets better, know what I mean? I'm moving on to mods in a couple weeks anyway.

And lastly, I was using stock JoyeTech branded type B tanks with the hard covers they came with. I'll be sure to post this sort of info and product links next time I write a post like this.

Thanks again people.

I do know what you mean. At the time and for a year or so, it was the best available and I made it work.

Suggest: Before moving to a mod, get a Kanger T3 to use with the eGo batt.... switched over to these and haven't looked back.

I ordered a Smoktech eGo tank last week, then I read all the good reviews of the T3s on here. That's the way life goes. It wasn't spendy and it's a carto tank, so here's hoping for the best. If it doesn't work out or I tire of it, I will give those Kangers a try.

I'm planning to keep the eGo-C battery and to use it, but I only have one other batt and it's an 808 cig-a-like, so I need to buy another system of some kind anyway. I don't want to be stuck with all this 510 gear and no way to use it. I'm thinking about a mod because I want more power and different features.

And Kent, I have a question you may be able to answer - when the battery on my passthrough gets old and stops taking a charge, will it still work off the USB power? And will the current going through the dead battery stop it from seeping or whatever old and dead batteries do?

On the PT, you're talking full life time of the battery - no - once it's dead it's dead.

Oh well. i was thinking of using it after the batt died for a hookah mod to look like Jabba the Hutt's frog hookah. The would be cool, but now that I'm single again i need to keep my inner nerd quiet, since all things scifi except Firefly seem to be birth control.

I'm thinking of something similar for the passthrough - perhaps with some metal sprayer hose for the wire :D

We have like minds, it would seem. Nice eGo mod, BTW.

And to be clear, I was not knocking Firefly / Serenity, Joss Whedon or anything related. I loved the show, own the episodes and movie, but I'm more into hard scifi like Star Trek, BSG and Doctor Who.

On a final note, it should be stated (again) that Star Wars is not scifi, it's genre is fantasy, it's setting is scifi.
