I have two ego 1000 batteries. One is set up with a cartomizer, and one with a tank and atomizer. And I'm pretty new to this, so I don't know much about what I'm doing.

When I bought it, at a storefront, the guy filled the cartomizer for me. And the first time I refilled it, it seemed to be just fine.

But the next time I refilled it, I think maybe I put too much juice. I'm getting a lot of flavor, like the juice is leaking out or something. And it makes a gurgling sound with I vape.

I'm guessing I filled it too much. How do you know how much? I'm just popping the cap off (which is a pain - I have trouble getting that cap off, and had to use a pocketknife which probably isn't a good long term plan) and dripping from the bottle to the carto, then popping the cap back on.

I'm told the carto's go bad quickly if you don't refill often enough, but I seem to have a problem now that I think is maybe caused to by filling it too much - though it certainly didn't look like it was ready to overflow or anything when I was filling it.

When I took the tank and atomizer off the other battery to charge it, the tank/atomizer did a lot of leaking while the battery charged. Is that normal? Is there a good solution? I haven't noticed it leaking when I have the battery connected to it.

Keep an eye out (tongue?) for the flavor. WHen the flavor starts to change on your carto, that's when it's time to top it up.

For popping the cap, get a paperclip. As for how much to top it off, wait until the filler looks "slushy" (lack of a better description). After that, blow it out (into a tissue/ paper towel/ over a sink/ on your friend) and you should be good to go.

As for your tanks, I dunno. Keep the tank-atty in an upright position? Or just take the tank off when not in use and put the soft rubber cap on it.

What kind of cartos do you have? Do you know? If it's the joye cartomizers they hold about 20 drops of juice. Is it a soft, rubber cap or hard cap?

Cartomizers are disposable but they can be refilled many times. If I put too much juice in, I just dab it with a q-tip. I usually put about 10 drops in, shake like a thermometer, 5 more drops, shake, etc. until full.

You can pick up a box of cartos (get the Boge LR) at Joogler. Comes with a free bottle of juice. I'd also pick up a couple of drip tips to make it easier to fill. I think the boge cartos might hold a bit more. It's not an exact science counting drops but I can get about 25-30 drops in an empty carto.

Use the code ECF5OFF for $5.00 off your first order.

Joogler Juice

Hopefully someone will be along to help you with your tank.

Good luck!

I'm new to vaping, but this is what my cousin (who's been vaping for awhile) told me: for the Joye type carto's they usually hold about 25 drops. When filling a blank carto you must be patient. It is an empty filler so you want it to make sure it gets saturated before you push the button. Anyways, 5 drops at a time, turning the carto for each drop. 5 drops then let it set for awhile. Then 5 more until you get till about 20-25. Remember to be patient.

Does this sound right veterans???

Thanks

For cartos you can do the drip, shake & wait but it takes so much time. The condom method is so much faster and not as messy as some people have said. This is the only way I fill cartos anymore unless they are CE2's, G4's or tanks. The syringe method is quicker too. Squirt some in the bottom then top off til full.

A really good and cheap tool to get those hard white caps off is a very small crochet hook. Works great. Or, bend the end of a paper clip into a hook.

I use plastic or delrin drip tips from LiteCigUSA.net as comfortable mouthpieces on my main stuffing-type cartos. That way I only have to remove the end cap once (I use an unbent paper clip in the center hole, being careful not to catch the stuffing or wire look in there). After that I have the drip tip on the end (not to drip into since I only use cartos with a defined center air channel. just as a mouthpiece that is easy to remove).

When I add juice I take the carto off the battery and often hold a bit of tissue against the threaded end hole. Tilt the carto and drip into the stuffing. Then I make sure the threaded end is dry, then since I have a center air channel I tilt the open end down and puff into the threaded end to clear the air channel - I want to see light through that. Then if the top of the stuffing looks overly wet I may touch the tissue to it to sop up a bit to prevent gurgling.

On the first fill I put in 18+ drops per ml - 18 first then how ever many more it seems to willingly sop up (which I hold a tissue on the threaded end hole). After cleanup I lay the carto on different sides for about 15 minutes to make sure every bit of stuffing gets wet so I don't singe the carto.

I get the longest good performance with thin clear juices (20% or less VG). I can use a Boge for 1-2 weeks.

Dormouse nailed it. Driptip + carto is very nice. Occasionally though, a tiny amount of juice can pop up into your mouth through the driptip. I prefer to keep the little rubber circle stopper with the hole in it under the driptip. Makes it slightly more work to refill as it has to be removed to refill (unless you use a syringe I suppose) but I've found it worth it.

how about the capacity of the eGO cartomizer?

I don't think and actual "eGo" carto exists. Like Dormouse, since I learned the method from her, I use either LR or standard cartos on my eGo type batt, mostly Boge. I usually stop at 12-15 drops on a first fill. Let sit for an hour or two and add a few more drops. After that, I top off with 5-10 drops as vapor drops.
