Hello everyone!

i have heard about few explositions stories over the USA and since i became vendor i have to get the right knowloedge.

In our country many people sell EGO models (unbranded) not joyetec or something else.

I have heard hear many stories about eGo batteries exploded, so few questions:

1. What is IMR batteries and is that true its oonly melting and not exploding? where can i find these batteries?
2. Many people that their ego's exploded caused by connecting to the PC with USB, why is that? what is the output of the voltage from the pc?

3. I have heard many stories, all came by charing overnight or in bad way (from this forum).
What about face explosition? is that happend with eGo before or only while charging?

4. I read that people said "you should charge your batteires with chargers came with the kit", my eGo's like many else imported from china.
I got 2 kits, 1 1100mah and 1 900mah.
As i read here i should espect to other output voltage but when i took both chargers i find this:

1100mAh battery:
46-63Hz- 0.1A
Output: 5v - 0.5A
(USB CONNECTED OUTPUT4.2V 420mA)

900mAh battery:
50/60Hz- 0.2A
Output- 5v 500mA
(USB CONNECTED OUTPUT4.2V 420mA)

It look the same just the Hz in the chargers.

So what differences i should find in other batteries?

When people talk about not compitable charger what they mean? what output?

Thanks alot for your answers and your time!

1. What is IMR batteries and is that true its oonly melting and not exploding? where can i find these batteries?

I understand IMR to be "Safer Chemistry" batteries meaning the chemicals will not react as violently as others. They are available from many vendors. AW is a reputable manufacturer of this type battery.

2. Many people that their ego's exploded caused by connecting to the PC with USB, why is that? what is the output of the voltage from the pc?

The USB output is 5 volt. The amperage is not controlled as well on some motherboards so they may overcharge the battery.

3. I have heard many stories, all came by charing overnight or in bad way (from this forum).

The "overnight" basically means while they were unattended. Batteries (and chargers) should always be monitored for overheating while they are charging. eGo chargers have failed internally and overcharged batteries. Again, this could be prevented in most cases by monitoring the battery during charging.

4. I read that people said "you should charge your batteires with chargers came with the kit", my eGo's like many else imported from china.
I got 2 kits, 1 1100mah and 1 900mah.

(USB CONNECTED OUTPUT4.2V 420mA)

It look the same just the Hz in the chargers.

So what differences i should find in other batteries?

The output (500mA and 0.5A) is exactly the same and 5volt is the normal voltage for USB connections.

When people talk about not compitable charger what they mean? what output?

The output of the charger must be less than the mah of the battery. Small batteries (100-200mah) are damaged, sometimes violently, when charged with a higher output charger.

Thanks alot for your answers and your time!

Lets assume the output is 5v and the battery is 650 or 900mAh that should be fine in this case.

Anyway, when people use my cigarette the clearomizer become hot (which is understood) and also the battery a little bit (like a cellphone use)

I should not be worried in this case right?

Correct on both counts. Warm like a cellphone is to be expected, it is after all, an electric heating coil. The top part of the battery may warm as well. If used continually it will heat more and should be allowed to rest and cool.

Also, during charging, heat will be produced and warm is OK. Very hot or burning smell is not normal.

Enjoy!

It's always a good idea to let a battery cool to room temperature before putting it on a charger. Never charge batteries unattended. Overnight charging is a bad idea because the battery itself could go into failure mode or the charger could fail to cut off when the battery voltage reaches 4.2v. An eGo charger checks the voltage every few seconds and stops when it reads 4.2v. This is happening when you see the green flash periodically in the red LED while the battery is charging.

Do you think that engeneer that will design a vent holes in the bottom its a good idea?
Do you think it will prevent the blowing mod and will be only melting mod in case of battery failue?

The purpose of bottom vent holes is to direct anything away from a persons face. Obviously it is a good idea. Battery problems are very rare and problems can usually be prevented by following basic battery safety guidelines.
