Ego - Cone or No Cone?

Just got my ego today. Been using with standard 510 atty and drip tip and the cone. Ended up deciding like it better without the cone. Easier draw. With the cone on, I have to really work to get a draw. I also find that I get a warmer vapor without the cone on and a bit more vapor.
I like the increased draw when the cone is not on but I feel like I'm getting better quality drags with it on.
That said, I bought a stainless steel cone as an add-on to my last LiteCigUSA.net order and it was actually threaded slightly off and it lets more air in than the standard eGo cone. I actually prefer this one over the cones that came w the kits!

I used to always have the cone on. But find myself going coneless a lot it these days.
As most have said, the cone is nice for getting a tighter draw, and for visual appeal.

Cone on is better for me. Although I cant use it with my LR 306s so I might just go back to LR510

1) the atomizer can get warm. The cone stands between my finger and it.
2) If i over fill my cart, the cone stands between me and ejuice on my hands/in pocket
3) asthetic
There is a harder pull on the device while it is on though. I have been giving some decent amount of thought to just drilling a hole in the cone. I dont know, maybe one or two 1/16th or 1/32nd diameter holes will do well to decrease the resistance on my pulls.

The only difference I've found with the cone - other than the cosmetic one - is the fact that it makes that noisy cartos almost noiseless.
The cone looks good and keeps you from bending your atty. I too think it restricts the draw a bit too much. So I drilled four evenly spaced 1/8" holes just above the threads of the cone. Very nice!

I like the cone for the sleek look it adds to the Ego. If the draw is too tight, just unscrew the cone 1/4 turn and the draw pressure eases quite a bit.
I'm partial to the cylinder atty, but have had short life on the two I've had. The first one died in three weeks and it's warranty replacement died in four. My 510 style mega atty is still rocking after 5 months. I think there's a quality issue with the coils. The first one reads 43.5 ohms and the second one reads zero and both are dead. Something is lacking in the solder joints inside.

+1 on that. If you do any dripping, the cone will save from from dealing with a handful of juice.
I never got an actual kit so I don't have a cone. I got 2 900mah batteries and some Mega Cartomisers and Mega attys and carts. With the eGo Mega stuff you can't use the cone anyway. I have thought about getting a cone for when I drip using a regular 510 atty.
Cone on. Makes it way easier for dripping w/o having to worry about over filling.
I love the cone! It's always on! You CAN use the cone with the LR 306 if you use a dremel or something to cut off part of the cone, which also loosens up the draw a little. It may not be worth the trouble for some people to modify the cone but it took about 2 mins to do it. You can see what it looks like in this thread.
I take a rubber o ring and stretch it over the threads down to the flat part then put my cone back on the threads and screw it down on to the o ring, drip drip drip, no leak leak leak ever, works great
Huh, I didn't realize that they even made 901 cones. Thanks for the info.
