I like to leave it on. It really makes the eGo feel heavy and solid.

true that........plus you can also get a button protector so when you put it in your pocket you won't be able to fire up your atty & possibly burn out the atty or your leg........button protector only works with the cone installed

I second ^^ BIG TIME!! I was stupid and spent $3/ea on button protectors from one vendor and then promptly lost one of them. LiteCigUSA.net has them for $.95/ea and $2 shipping. Greatest investment you can make, IMPO!

When I got my Riva kit from Vaporroom.net, the cone didn't seat properly. I wrote an email to them, and they replied that I would like it better with agood fitting cone, esp since I drip. The new cone is on its way to me now! I have read that the cone helps create better vapor output, and helps the atty heat up faster.

It probably does, but when the atty gets too warm, it seems to keep the excess heat from dissipating. Where it's practical, I like to use two Rivas side-by-side. When one gets too warm, I use the other.

Those look really useful, actually. I was pondering how to make one myself. I have to try some of those... Are they plastic or metal?

I've got three cones in an assortment of colors. But, I haven't used them in months. I alternate between the mega cylinder atomizer and LR 510 (minus the cone), both with drip tips. Works for me.

So far as the button protector is concerned: If misfiring is a problem for you, just remove the atty before pocketing. Well, that's my pov.

I keep the cone on for 3 reasons...

1. Tighter draw. I don't like airy draws.
2. It keeps liquid from leaking on your hands, or elsewhere.
3. I tend to rub the upper part of my Ego when I'm not puffing so it provides protection by keeping my atty straight.

And an added plus, it does dress up my Egos. I have a stainless steel cone (since the platinum started chipping and I shaved it lol) and it looks nice with any color.
