eGO-CTwist Problems

Hey guys,

I just bought a brand new 1300mah eGo-CTwist this afternoon from my local smoke shop. I got home, charged it, and turned it on. It turned on perfectly fine, but when I screw it into my Aspire Nautilus tank and press the button to take a pull, the button flashes 3 times. I've tried everything to figure out what's wrong (countless YouTube videos, scouring the forums provided, etc), but I can't seem to find anyone who is having this exact problem. I gently cleaned the contact points in the battery and on my tank, but it didn't seem to help. When I detach it from my tank and press the button, it lights up normally; no flashing 3 times.

Can anyone please help me out, and/or give some advice? I'd greatly appreciate it.

you press the button w/nothing on top of the batt, the batt should light up solid.

3 flashes when pressing is the short circuit protection kicking in.....csounds like the atomizer might has a short and the protection circuitry on batt is kicking in so it is turning itself off

Can you Try a new coil or clearo, or take it apart, put together again, tighten everything, etc.

You may also try the "fast 5 click turn it off" fix. click 5 times quickly, til batt goes off, then turn on normally and see

What is the resistance of the coils your using? The specs on the ego c twist when I looked it up for you tonight said the lowest resistace of this unit is 2.2 ohms. That came off the joyetech support page. What that means if it's correct, is that anything lower than a 2.2 in resistance won't run on that unit. So if those specs are correct, and your coil is a 1.8 in resistance, then it won't run it. So i would check the coil resistance, check the specs on the unit and see if that's causing the issue. Best wishes. Hope this helps

How high ohms are your coils? Could be too low for the ego battery?
Do other tanks fire on the battery? Did you swap the coil already? Does the Nautilus fire on other ego batteries? Maybe the center pin is not making proper contact? (Threading too short) I don't know the nautilus very well, does it have an adjustable center pin? If so, try to make it stick out a bit more

I don't think those specs are correct. I've been using Joyetech twists since 2012 with 1.8ohm coils. It will run the batt down faster than SR coils, but that's about it. ;)

Center pin fix if other advice fails:

But, here's the thing: If as you say, it doesn't blink 3 times when no clearo is on there, then it is not likely the internal part of battery has a problem. The 3 blinks is usually a short/too low ohms/0 ohms (which is a short)

I agree with everyone else here, it sounds like a short with the tank coil or too low of ohms.
This exact thing happened to me a while back with my mod and acro 5.0 tank. With the tank on the mod it flashed 3 times and when I took the tank off it worked normal. I took my tank off and my coil replacement was not twisted in correctly (the coil was stuck to the top of the tank instead of when twisting it off it was supposed to stay on the bottom part, the acro 5.0 is like an aspire nautilus) After taking the tank apart and putting it back together it worked normal :)
A different time I had the same thing happen with a different tank, and I tested the ohm of the coil and there was a short in the coil. So, I rebuilt my coil and put the tsnk back on and it stopped :)
You should try a different tank or a new coil :) Good luck!

Good reasoning:) Partial or bad contact?
Does the center pin of your nautilus have movement if you pry it a bit? Maybe it shorts when screwed? But again, did you try other combination of tanks and batteries? This will remain a bit of a guessing game this way. Maybe go back to your vape shop if you don't have any other tanks or batteries in the house.
Be good to narrow it down to at least the battery or the tank.
Even if it happens they both work in other setups, its already helpful and it might be worth giving that higher ohm coil a try.
