Ok so minor issue here. The bottom of my eGo twist got wet, how doomed am I? I haven't fired it or anything and have it sitting upright on paper towels. I don't have any rice on hand otherwise it would be in that at the moment.

What happened is I went to put it in my cup of pens and I wasn't looking. Next thing I know I hear a clink. I missed the pen cup and put it into an adjacent coffee cup that had maybe an eighth of a quarter inch of coffee left in it. Thankfully i have spares but was that enough to do any damage?

All you can do is let it dry THOROUGHLY. Overnight for a few nights if you can. Do you have backup?

I dunked mine in a cup of coffee.... I think I had set it in the cup for just a split second and the cup was not full. Maybe 1/8th full, if that.

The good news, mine fired back up right away after drying the thing. How long was it wet before you noticed it?

As long as you don't try to make it work before it drying completely, you may have a chance of keeping a functioning eGo.

When I was still new to vaping, I accidentally dropped an 1100 mAh eGo stick into the commode. I'm a stand-up kind of person, and you can guess what I had just finished doing.

I fished it out, discarded the carto (I was still using cartos then — I was not going to clean that one for reuse!), rinsed off the battery, dried it with paper towels, then let it air-dry for two days.

Two days later, I screwed in a new, freshly-ejuiced carto, and it functioned perfectly.

Of course, your mileage may vary . . .

This is actually exactly what happened to me, about a quarter inch of coffee. I'll try and find some rice to toss this thing into. I've got one backup but I can't use my protank2 on it :( It's a generic and the part that makes contact with the tank is closer to the top of the threads than the Joyetec I just took swimming lol

When I read the title I thought "Oh, that's easy, your eGo is happy", then I opened the thread ...

Desiccant packs from shoes or the ones in with computer stuff can't dry out things really well too. Pop a few packs in a zip-lock with the eGo and press out as much air as you can, then close it up for a few days.

Did it sit in the coffee for a while? Mine, I realized what I did immediately. Took it out and had no problem using it. Didn't even think about if the inside got wet  But it worked right away.

I would think if it sat in it for a while....yeah, let it dry out completely. I now don't have my cup sitting where I can put anything in it LOL

I re-read your first post.... Ya edited it! LOL

If you grabbed it out really quickly and dried it off.... you could be ok with using it right away. Is there anything coming out of it? Is the paper towel still dry, that it's sitting on? You might not have gotten anything inside of it. *crossing fingers for you*

It is fine, it is just a lithium battery, give it a bit of time to do its thing and as long as it works you should be fine. I dropped my iPhone in the toilet a few times and it still works.

As much lip service as I give the thing, you'd think so right?? lmao I actually found rice!!! Rolled it up in a ziploc bag and now I play the waiting game. Wish I had ordered that MPV 2 a couple days ago now haha

Yeah, I did not do 'quick' in this instance haha Man, I'm such a goober. There's nothing coming out of it, wrapped it in a paper towel for a few minutes and there was no spotting. I realized I had a 25lb bag of wild rice in the house so I grabbed some of that and a ziploc bag then threw the sucker in there and rolled the air out before sealing it. It's possible I didn't get anything inside of it, but I'm going to let it sit overnight and leave it be till tomorrow afternoon most likely.

Sorry about the edit! I didn't think anyone had seen the post yet, so I just added to it. Then when the page refreshed there were a few of you in here giving me a hand! I definitely am going to avoid having cups in that general area from now on.

I dropped my I taste vv into the tub for what seemed like a split second. Put it into a bag of rice for a week. Then put it on the charger and watched it like a hawk. It really got hot so I unplugged it and called it a loss. Just be real careful with charging it.

Man I'm sorry to hear that. Thanks for the heads up, I'll be sure to keep an eye on it when I charge it. It was pretty much at full charge when this happened so I'll obviously try to use it first and go from there.
