Ego k won't charge!

Hi all,

I bought a used ego k with a 650mAh battery of a friend. I'm new to vaping so bare with me lol! It was working for a couple of days but now it won't charge. When I plug it in the charger, the charger just stays red! The battery doesn't flash and then stay blue when you first screw it in which it did for the first couple of days. I've looked on this forum for hours but no one seems to have this problem! Also when you take the battery out the charger and press the button it just flashes constantly and I have no idea what this means.

In the link is the USB charger that came with it! However the charger my friend had been using was a Nokia 5v 1.3A, the only thing I can think of is that the it has broken the USB charger, as its input is 5v 500mAh. But it had been working fine for them for months! So I don't know!

The center tab in your battery probably needs to be pried up. You can use tweezers or a paper clip. Stick them in the side and don't be too forceful.

i sometimes just screw it in more tight,replug the usb,or flick the charger with my finger.lol

Agree with HVAC. The EGO center posts often get pushed down too far by an atomizer or tank. The post won't make contact with the charger and then it doesn't work. As stated GENTLY pull the center post up a tiny bit using tweezers or something else and then try it on the charger.

Hi thanks for posting so quick!

I've tried pulling both centre pieces on the battery and USB charger. Still nothing happens. Does anyone know why the LED just flashes when pressed because it never used to do this before!

My eGo charger light is red when its charging - maybe yours is different.
Blinks are usually letting you know it needs a charge.

Maybe just clean the contacts off both the Kgo and the charger.

Usually repeated flashing means either you have a short somewhere OR the batt needs charging. Do you have access to a digital multi tester?
Also are you plugging the charger direct to usb or through a wall adapter/ electrical outlet? If using the PC usb have you tried a rear usb port?

Also the carto or juice delivery system (holds and vaporizes the juice) may have a short. Do you have another carto you can try?

Thanks for that . Yeah I've got a multimeter, I'll text it soon!

I'm plugging in through the computer and have tried every USB port but still nothing. I've also tried the Nokia charger my friend gave me but that doesn't do anything either!

I've tried using a different carto but this doesn't work either. I'm guessing that the solder inside the battery has come off!

Yeah it sounds like maybe a solder joint has broken or is shorting out against the tube. I just recently took apart my Twist as the button had gotten pushed in too far. The wires are VERY thin.

I think i found the problem, the USB charger is only giving out 1V so obviously it won't charge! But I haven't got another charger so I can't test if the battery's faulty as well.

Its not connecting. The center pin needs to be pried up. This I guess happens a lot with Ego's. I had one do it, but didnt know what it was so I brought it back and got a new one. Now I could probably fix it if it ever happens again. Youtube it for exact directions on how to do it. Also, always clean your battery posts and charger post (obviously not while plugged into wall)
