eGo Mega atty - cylinder or cone? Pros/Cons on the mega size and shapes

Any feedback from eGo (and comps) on the mega cone shape attys vs mega cylinder shaped attys?

Pros/cons on each? I'm ready to "upgrade" from my 510 - and am looking for something I don't have to refill all the time. I'd like to go hang out and not have to refill constantly!

The cylinder ones will take a larger cart then the cone shaped ones. Have not tried them yet so i can't really say how they preform.

Mega cone holds less juice @1.8ml. Mega cyl will hold almost 3ml. Nuff said. IMHO end of discussion. I think it is mostly an asthetical issue, some like the cone shape. I like the cyl shape just fine.

So far, the factory filler works best. It needs to be flipped occasionally, as it does get stiff from the heat. Also, you can wash it, dry it and it is good to go. I haven't had much luck w/ teabags, the cart is just too big for that, even w/ 5 tea bags. Imma keep experimenting, I have like 35 carts to play w/. BTW, you can get carts for cheap at thevaporpro.com $2 for 5 11mg Menthol, and they are pretty decent. But at that price you can wash them out if you don't like menthol.

I've never used prefilled (with juice) carts. I was planning on the regular mega blank carts and separate mega atty. I'll have to check out tvp.

Hi Darkwitless. I have both the cone and the cylinder Atomegas and both perform equally well as they each use the same heating coil elements. The advantage of the cylinder is, as explained above, the greater amount of juice it holds. I replace the filler in each type with a better polyfill for aquarium filters. It is 'Loving Pets' brand of filter fiber. It is loose and comes in a 2 ounce bag. I can precisely create the density of filler that works for the juice viscosities I create. Although, the stock filler works okay, I found that I can hit a dry vape once in a while if I don't rotate to another unit/atty.

Easy as can be. Take the filler out, go to sink, squeeze out as much juice as you can, and wash the filler under hot water, squeeze out water and let dry. It is the best deal going right now. And I love the menthol in the carts. But if your not a menthol fan, it's easy to fix, and cheaper than most 510/901 carts, let alone eGo carts. Remember, that w/ 5 carts you are getting 15ml of juice or so. Give it a try, see if you like menthol like me.

Thanks! I've been debating get one of each. And I think I may try the menthol - when I smoked analogs I'd never have dreamed of lighting up a Christmas Tree - but I've tried a few different flavors over the past month and at that price I'm thinking "what the heck!"

Yes... it will *fit* a 510 battery. But it will look funny, and probably kill the battery.

I have the Ego Mega Cone atty and have experienced the same "suddenly dry" conditions as Cozzicon mentioned in his review. I set it down with the cart up for a couple of minutes and it recharges the filler through gravity.

He is correct in that the amount of vapor produced by these mega atties is tremendous. It's true that a light smoker/vaper might vape themselves silly at first if they treat the mega like a standard 510. You can get into the nic OD range with numb fingertips and ringing ears pretty quickly if you vape it like a madman. It can also go through ridiculous amounts of juice in a short time.

I've successfully used a Blue Foam Dart mod with the mega cart. You will still occasionally get a dry atty when the cart begins to get low (still some juice left) but it vapes almost down to the empty point before that happens. The trick is to find the minimum foam size that seals the cart and does not leak. I used a typical small soda straw from a fast food restaurant with the BFD.

I doubt it'll kill the batt. I've used eGo mega cartos on a 510(yes it looks goofy), but functioned fine. They are 2.5ohm, should be fine on a 510. On a mod, no problem whatsoever.

It might work, the snout on the eGo is @ 1/2". You may need to trim the skirt a bit or use a charger adapter from TW. A cheap way to experiment would be to get a eGo mega carto to test fit. Some have trimed the skirt on them to fit on the Hello 016(seems I saw one on another mod as well).

Petsmart has the blue foam in various sizes and the one I bought was designed as a tube folded flat in the package. It goes over a cylinder type assembly in the aquarium to catch particles and detritus (fish poop). One pack, which contains 3 tubes for around $3.99, will last you forever. Once you cut the tube, you get a piece about 6"x12". It's about 1/4" thick and is right thickness for a 510. For the mega attys you have to cut it and fold it over. The straw holds the sides together after you fold it and twist it into the straw. Marineland is the brand and you just need to call pet stores and ask if they are a dealer.
