Your letting the ego heat up too much.
Or not letting it cool down between pulls.

Yes maybe they are letting theirs heat up too much. I havent had any problems with mine, but I do let mine cool down, simply because that is my normal method of vaping. I've been alternating between 2 of the cartomizers since Monday and havent gotten a burnt taste or a hard draw in either of them yet.

Today is the 3rd refill for the one of the cartos that I am vaping now and no problems so far. I am vaping about 2ml of juice per day. But my normal way of vaping anyway is to do 3 vapes in a row .. then I put it in my lanyard and I dont do it again for another 5-10 minutes.

Since I only do those 3 vapes at a time then mine dont really have a chance to get hot and so maybe that is why I havent had any hard draws or burnt tastes yet .. or maybe I've just been incredibly lucky with these 2 cartos. I bought 15 of the cartomizers and have another 15 being shipped today, I sure hope all of them work as well as these first 2 cartomizers because so far I LOVE them!

OK....:2c: :D

I bought 5 of the prefilled mega cartos last week. As soon as I got them, I put 2 on 2 Hellos and 2 on 2 Mako Minnos. I rotated those but tried to go easy because I am still waiting on my oiler bottles and I didn't want to burn them out before I could refill them. It's been tough!

Anyhoo....I have had no problem with mine so far. I've never even felt one heat up on the outside yet. I then tried the 5th carto on the Little Sister I got Monday...vaped the hell out of that thing while trying to be cautious not to vape it dry. No problem there either but I've had to stop using all of them until I can refill them. I think at this point it would be too easy for me to burn them out by overdrying them.

I will probably have more info once I can refill them but because of the way I vape, I will be alternating them between the 5 devices anyway. And when I do get to refill, I make all my own juice and it's all VG based....so it ought to be interesting.

Now to go read the other thread.....

So, now that some of you have been using these for a while - what is the consensus, how many refills are these ego-mega-cartoz good for before they are done? How are you concluding they are done? Most cartoz is easy to tell due to reduced vapor production. I'd hate to fill in 1.8 ml, take a draw or two and then realize the carto is done and have to chuck so much juice - is this just the risk of these cartoz? T.I.A.

Neb.....I have found that after 2 or 3 refills these carto's don't want to hold as much liquid as they did in the beginning. I'm lucky if I can get 1ml in on a re-fill now without the juice pouring out the connector end. I'm not using the plug when I re-fill them.....maybe I should...I seem to be losing alot of juice! The taste tends to lessen with each re-fill as well.

These are my observations over a two week span!.....Still using the first one,bad taste and all!

Just curious if your eGo Cartos are still doing good? All of mine took on a chemical taste after 2 or 3 refills.

Thanks ejoker and Wiz. Just got my 5 pack and filled one. so far hittin like a champ too. popped that bad boy on a 6V device and hits really nice. I'm just afraid the heat may be too much for it. So back to Tornado but still very nice. Big vapor too just a bit less flavor than on the 6V
Neb......Be careful with 6v...I think I fried my first one trying it there. 5v seems to work just fine for me!

Hope you find your sweet spot!

I've had good luck with all of mine. My first one lasted for 3 days, my second one lasted for 4 days, my 3rd one lasted for 6 days. I think I let my first one dry out and that's what made it burn out.

After losing the first one in just 3 days I changed my procedure and started doing a top-off/refill in the late afternoons. That seemed to extend their life. If we are counting "refills" and not "days", then I refilled the 2nd one 8 times and my 3rd one 12 times.

I'm using the standard eGo battery and am happy with them, glad I got them. Got mine from GP when he had a great sale, with free shipping and a coupon they cost me about $2.50 each.

i'm on refill 4 with my first two, still performing like champs.

I'm still using the one I got in the 3rd week in May - no off tastes but I'm keeping it soaked all the time.

Can I ask where you got them? Maybe I got a bad batch or something.

Got them from Cignot.com......

mine came from cignot as well.

Thank you. Mine came from cignot also.

I wonder if it is something in my juice that reacts with the atomizer wick.

I would get this chemical taste when I used carts. I removed the wicking threads on one of my atty's and the chemical taste never can back. So I reasoned that the wicking threads were causing the chemical taste.

I diesected one of the cartos to see what it looked like inside. It is basical a 510 atomizer without a bridge. It seems to have the same the same type of wicking threads that an atty has with a atomizer wire coiled around it.

Nothing was burned and in my Pineapple carto, it wasn't very discolored. Except for those wicking threads which were oily brown. And the Chemical smell was terrible.

I started this thread with hopes that someone might be able to shed some light onto what might cause wicking threads to break down.

Just so you know. I only order blank cartoz. And I've seen 2 reports of prefilled eGo cartoz with bad taste.
