Hey all,

I've read a few threads here and there about connection issues with the eGo Mega Dual coils (I purchased mine from Avid, they have the black rubber tip). I was hoping it wouldn't be a problem but... it is. Can someone suggest what to do with the carto(s) to help remedy this? I've been vaping for a long time now, but I've never had to fix a pin issue and don't want to do anything to the battery; I'd rather fiddle with a 3 dollar cartomizer. The eGo clone I have happens to be an Inferno from Volcano, but I've heard of these connection problems with these cartos on various eGo clones. Evidently they work awesome when they're hooked up properly!

I did, however, notice with a bit of fiddling with a paperclip I got the carto to fire... sort of. It crackled, some vapor came out, but when I went to take a drag I got nothing. Even worse, almost zero airflow. Additional suggestions? Maybe this one is just lousy?

Thanks a lot!

I have found that on some of my e-go batteries the carto will not work, BUT if I put an adapter on it, 510-510 (extender some call them), it works fine.
I have asked about this myself and everyone was pretty surprised with this. But that's my fix for the problem.
knock on wood, i havent had carto's just not work for any reason. i guess Ive been lucky, huh.

It's probably the old pin forced back into the atomizer problem. The symptom is that it will sometimes fire or not at all. A paper clip with a straightened leg and an 1/8" right angle bent into the end will allow you to ease the center pin of the carto back out. It should sit slightly above the outer ring when it's correct. Just stick the paper clip hook into the center hole and gently work one side and then the other until it moves out past the outer ring.

The center post sits in a silicone ring insulator and gets pushed back when you tighten the atty onto the battery. The reason it worked with the adapter is just a matter of machined dimensions relative to the thread depth on the atty.

I have had the same problem with 3 ego T batteries. Adjusting the pin in the carto never worked for me and had to gently pry up the battery every single time with all three batteries. The vendor said he is no longer going to carry these because of the problems. I have 2 ego T batteries that I have had no problems with at all. After getting the 2 that work it is obvious that the bad ones where ressessed way too deep.
