The original is the one with vertical slots to see the glass inside. That's what I have, three of them. Seems they are being phased out in favor of the new v2 with the open glass look. Both are 4ml. To my knowledge, the 1.8 and 2.5s are new to the scene, or at least I never saw them until recently, about the time the V2 mega appeared.

All three with the window bars are the prior model. The mini is 1.8, the ego one is 2.5, and the mega vt is 4.0. Those are now replaced vy the mega v2, 4.0, and the v2 xl, 2.0. They all take the same coils, whether the so-so cl series, or the newer, wonderful CLRs, which come in both kanthal 1.0 ohms, 0.50 ohms, and the Ti tc.
Gets confusing without a scorecard.
The Tron-s replaced the Tron-t. Seems nearly identical to the mega, but for the window and the semi-hidden air flow slots. Takes the same coils.

I was talking about the difference between the original Ego One Mega and the Ego One Mega VT.

Joye eGo ONE Mega VT Atomizer
As far as I know, they are the same tank. They changed the name to confuse us yet again. The VT was being sold with the Evic lineup, then for some odd reason they started calling them Ego One's for the Ego One 'Flute' Battery. :)

The VT is, indeed, the same tank as the original eGo One Mega that came on the VTC mini but with temp control coils. It confused me because it suddenly had a new name. This is the explanation I found on one site:

This is the same atomizer sold in the Joyetech eVic-VT kit & Joyetech eVic VTC Mini kit.
It's the eGo ONE Mega atomizer, but with VT (Variable Temperature) coils: 0.2Ω Ni 200 coil & 0.4Ω Ti coil.

A source for all of them, IF they restock, is Sweet-vapes.

OK, has anyone tried the 2.5? DesertVapes has them for $9.95. I'm having hard luck finding the Mega VT in stock most places.
Have some on order. Will let you know what they are like when they arrive.

Just for fun, here is the original tron-t, now discontinued, with a glass top.

Looking forward to hearing others experience once they start getting their tanks in.
And for you that have them, have any of you removed the lower juice control ring from your CLR coils?
Has anyone removed the compression ring from the top ring?
What builds do you use?

eGo ONE, a history :)

the whole thing started sometime ago with the release of "the Ego ONE" in 2 versions (standard and XL) (after popularity of the DELTA II)
upload_2016-7-3_21-6-44.png

then they rocked the world with the eVic VT ; 5000mah and eGo ONE Mega Tank & TEMP CONTROL

now add to the eGo ONE: the eGo ONE Mega & eGo ONE Mini

not long after, the eVic VTC mini came out...

then Joyetech followed up their eGo ONE stick batteries by adding TEMP CONTROL
and called them "VT" & "CT"

all the ego one tanks are the same using same coils (sizes respectfully)
the names just follow the devices that they were released with
and in turn have said TEMP coils included

then they introduced the TRON tanks an "S" version and a "T" version
the S made the rounds with most vendors, but I never did see the T be made available...

now the newest offering is the big glass eGo ONE V2, still trying to be shelved by vendors...

way back I bought a Mini for wife unit (WU) so of course I got me a XL 2200
liked it so much I bought a eVIC VT (w/Mega tank)

that's when I fell in love with the tank and CLR coils (and now own several of them)

The End

wondering why one would remove either of those

trying to see an advantage...?

surprised me watching that video where dude smacked that ring out

Removing the bottom ring allows for more wick and wicking. Haven't found the need to use it to restrict juice flow to the wick yet.
The inner ring acts as a compression when screwed down on the coil base. I removed one and it makes it easier to remove the upper
ring as it sometimes gets on there pretty tight. Still experimenting with both alterations.

I looked through my mods and have 2 that support TC - Cloupor Mini 50w and Istick 60w.
If you have used the CLR rebuilt with stainless steel may I ask what gauge SS you used, what diameter you wrapped to get what coil ohm, and what temperature you used with the rebuilt SS/TC coil?

I am going to order some stainless steel wire and give it a try and would like to get an idea of a starting point.
As always I am months behind the curve but that seems to work for me.

Thanks for the help.
