LOL!!!!!

Nah - no color, but that's of little consequence/value to me (I can't vape the color). As for the iStick, I keep workin' my way, Puf - keep workin' my way...

Hmmm. That really is a nice mod!

Thanks, Jumpin'. It has the most unique finish I've ever held, and I'm bowled over by the quality. As Jim had said earlier, it's like nothing else I've ever picked up.

It's double-baked something or other, and it just may be good enough to eat.

CLR Coil Accessory Pack Unboxing
Totally Wicked is having a sale, code CINCO33 for 33% off, so I bought 10 more five packs of the premade coils with wick. Only rebuilt two (I only have five CLR's, more on the way from FT). It was pretty easy, though I did have to adjust one coil lead with tweezers to get it flat in the slot for a good connection. At 33% off that's about $2.14 for a five pack of coils/wick if you buy 5 or more packs, that's well worth it to me for the cost savings and most of all the time savings. The wick that comes with it is organic, with extra specks lol
I built one with my fav cotton bacon V2 wick, and the other with the organic, haven't vaped the organic yet though.
I also picked up another Amor tank, but that didn't get discounted, probably because they are already heavily discounted at 10 bucks.
Link to the CLR coil Accessory Pack:
CLR Atomizer Head Accessory Pack
Don't think I can't make coils, I recoiled a myjet pod today, no easy task. A kayfun and a CLR coil build is a piece of cake compared to that. I just don't want a coil building job. haha
I'm loving both the Ego One V2 and the Amor tank using the CLR coils, I can't believe I waited this long to swap over from Nautilus coils to CLR coils for improved flavor with easy rebuilds and a very good cost savings for day to day convenience vaping. Glad you folks kept this thread going so I could finally pay attention after a couple of years, lol.
Here's the package:

Still make my own coils when im bored in retirement but have so many new clr heads(hundreds) that will last a lifetime at my age just putting in new cotton and a few short pulses to clean naked coil windings.
But
curious what ohm's are those and what material is the coil -kanthal, nichrome etc.
Its nice to see they make it simple for someone that does not want to make there own as we are all different.

Yeah when I retire I'll likely make my own coils to save money since I'll have more time than I do now with my job. Measures 1 ohm and as far as I can tell it's the same as the original coil, When I get a chance I will compare the CLR wire to some different gauges I have and once I figure out the gauge (I don't have a micrometer) get on steam engine and figure out if it's Kanthal or other. One thing I learned with the Myjets is to not trust the supplier claims as to coil material. Have you ever noticed some coils on Fasttech are sold as Nichrome Kanthal A1? Lol um you can't have it both ways fasttech
I'm hesitant but I might try a few short pulses on dry coil and then take apart to see if I have any plastic insulator melting/degradation. I did notice a slight groove in an insulator when I took a used CLR apart, but that may have been due to pressure against the lead instead of heat deformation. I just don't want to vape the insulator

Really like the Dna boards although i just vape in wattage mode with simple clr heads there is something about the vape compared to my other mods and feel that board will give me reliable usage.

Heck when i was building simple box mods i would have bought the dna75 chipset and put it into
homemade wood mod as i used to carve tobacco pipes out of briar and still shave with the shaving brush i made.

Here is a simple plastic box bought from madvapes 5 years back with a meter i installed.
Still have it but no longer used of course but was a fun experience to put together.

That's fantastic! I can barely twist a decent coil.

Ok... so I love my Nautilus Mini and was thinking about the N2 or Triton mini, but I really don't want to get another tank with pre-built coils. I stumbled across some info on the CLR coils and that is changing my mind about getting another Aspire. I never knew there was that option for Ego One. I've only heard bad things about the other reg. stock coils.

Couple questions....(please and thank you for any help)

1) The CLR coil looks soo easy to build and wick, are there and quirks or cons to them?
2) Is there any difference between the V1 or the V2 besides looks? Is the airflow the same?
3) Reg or Mega, besides the size of the juice compasity, is there a flavor diff. that really matters vs having to fill less often on the Mega?

Yes i saw that on the FT site Nichrome Kanthal A1.The few coil heads i cleaned and rewound i noticed insulator had some discoloration and rinsed it away.

But only vape around 11.5 watts with them in the pico-s tank and 12.5 in the megav2 tanks and pulse them in short bursts till they barely get a glow several times and they are cleaned.
My DIY is around 96.5% or so PG with concentrated real cig flavoring as VG does not agree with me as thats all i vape.
High VG % combined with sweet e-liquid may gunk coils faster i think .

Like you noticed the groove in brand new unused insulators and on opposite side and on the metal threads top that the insulator goes into is a notch to place other side of wire into then the pin goes on top .Have notice also that the little wire goes under the notched portion of the pin also and i figure its to help wire lead from spinning and keep it stationary.

My first rba was a choice between kanger subtank rba and clr. I am very happy with my decision to choose the latter. That was two years ago and clr on my SS Ego One Mega is still my daily banger!
Thanks to this forum I now can get a replacement for my ego one mega tank! Thank you!

Oh trust me, I can burn rayon just as black as cotton.

You should see my gf's coils, she changes them like once a month and she uses rayon bc it lasts longer, but she only uses TC until too much gunk builds up on the coil and switches back to wattage. By the time she changes it it's all burnt and shrunk down to nothing, parts of it are barely touching the coil and she's all "there's something wrong with my kayfun it leaks when I fill it"

LMAO! That's great!!

Sorry, Puf, but there's a new BME in town.

I can't find anything that I don't like about the V2 Megas. My syringe says that they're not really 4ml, but that's splitting hairs. 3-3.5 is more like it.

Sixteen dollahs. Wow.

Might be worth it to grab a couple as hand-outs.

External batts? I know, I know. Google is my friend. Nevermind....

1) The CLR coil looks soo easy to build and wick, are there and quirks or cons to them?

Honestly can't think of any cons. Quirks? Only one I can think of. I don't believe anyone has a problem with it. But occasionally when removing the base the top cap of the coil will come off and stay in the air tube. It doesn't "stick" there just lays there. I always run a wad of paper towel thru that passage when refilling to cleanup any condensation it pushes the cap right out no problem.

2) Is there any difference between the V1 or the V2 besides looks? Is the airflow the same?

I only have V1s. Just like the look. I've read in here that there may be very slight differences in airflow between versions? May have been the Trons tho.

3) Reg or Mega, besides the size of the juice compasity, is there a flavor diff. that really matters vs having to fill less often on the Mega?

I had 1 standard and have 7 Mega V1s. I couldn't tell any difference. Same coil so same chamber size. Hardly used the standard due small capacity so I Piffed it.

Hope this helps bring you into the egg roll family!:headbang:
