Thanks, Vesh! I appreciate that. Actually, Bestie is sending me his (as a back up for me). So, I do believe I'll be set.

I'm having and have had an issue with HG's site for some reason. It's greyed out (sort of) until you hit the age verify icon, but unfortunately, that dialog box is down on the page where I can't access it. So, I've stopped even going there.

so talking with my cousins (joyetech / eleaf / Wismec)

looks like my 3rd cousin (twice removed) has a new mod coming out that will bear a family resemblance...

I'm only interested in these when they come out due to curiosity, I won't be buying any other than one to test/look at if the price is right...
I'll need one for show, at the family reunion...

I'm with ya, not the best to look at, but wonder how it feels o_O

that 'squeeze-bar' is a great touch ;

also love the symmetry, balance, of the center located 510 connection (just makes sense)

It's just a preference thing - I prefer the 510 on one end or the other, which is one of the reasons I don't care for the iStick 60 (another is the picaniny screen). Just don't like the looks of it. :nah: That's not to say that it doesn't work well, though.

So i've been heavily using a CLR 1.0 coil for the first time ever.. Comparing it to the 0,6 pro CL it's a tough call.

The 0.6 is the most exaggerated overrated coil in modern history (i am not joking, i have never seen a coil rating this out).

Joyetech rate it at 15 to 30 watts, however 20 is the absolute upper limit. I took one hit at 29 watts by mistake, just a couple seconds, and i have never, in 3 years of vaping, tastes such a burnt hit before. It tasted worse than any ashtray or real cigarette i have *ever* had. So be aware of this. It took hours to get the taste out of my mouth.

I have absolutely no idea why joyetech lie about this or who they get to test them, that then lies. It's ridiculous, and really, 17 watts is the comfort spot.

however, the CLR coil gives a better vape and throat hit at 14.3 watts and no detection of burnt hits. Joyetech rate it from 10-20 but i am too scared to even try above 15 lol.

The CLR coil IS amazing. I bought a packet months back from all the recommendations on the forums, and hadn't used them till now. It's a very very good coil.. I primed it alot and no gurgles ( i pretty much soaked the cotton before using it).
Airflow for MTL is superb with the controller just a bit open.

HOWEVER the pro CL coil works with TC mode as it's made from 316L, and this is where it shines. If you are NOT a tc vaper, i would thoroughly recommend you forget about the pro CL coil and use the CLR.

Also you need a mod with GOOD tc control in SS mode, and many of them are not. Ironically (or not?), for factory settings, i find joyetech's own SS mode out of the gate, works perfectly, where as DNA's and yihi are not even close, you need to fine tune the TCR and temps are a lot different. The DNA 60/250, and yihi's default 316l mode, barely vape well even at 470 F.. You need to pump it to 500 to start getting a good vape. Joyetech latest firmware on all their mods ( i have 5 joyetech mods they are all good in this regard), just works at 420-440F. In *TC* mode you can pump the watts to about 23. Only in TC mode. You could probably pump it to the claimed 30, IF you had a lower temp. But that kind of defeats the purpose as it would simply ramp up faster to the lower selected temp and give less of a vape. I also found 20 watts up to around 470F is fine and provides a real kick!

SO : CLR kills the pro CL for non TC, and for those with steady hands and patience, they can re make these themselves with TC wire if one should so choose.

Pro CL coil is great TC SS316L vape with no work required from user other than a few drops to prime, fill tank and vape (and a well tuned 316L mode/TCR on your mod).

A bit cheaper - and probably faster shipping - at Totally Wicked. $10 ea., $3.99 shipping. Just ordered 2. 30+ remaining.

Only thing I'm a little bummed about is that there are no extra o-rings included - especially the glass tank seals. Might be able to scavenge some from other tanks if needed, tho. Will probably replace the drip tips - not keen on glass drip tips.
totally wicked have set overseas ship price. it costs 50 USD to send a $10 tank.

I have challenged them about this as i wanted to buy a pack of coils and it was $50 ship (actual cost is about $9.25) and you know what their answer was? "sorry about that, because most do big orders where it costs US more than $50 to ship, so we have set a flat rate". I wrote back that "for you to be OK with charging me $50 to send a pack of coils, to make up for losses that other customers that lose you shipping money incur, is NOT ok nor ethical. Why not just use a proper ship calculator like every other vape store i have ever used?"

So obviously, for me in Australia, buying little things like a tank or a pack of coils from totally wicked will never, ever be an option. Can you imagine, a nicolas tank shipped would cost me 100 aud LOL.

GREAT write up and info on the CL(r) coils, Vesh. TC still leaves me cold, just thinking about all the various settings and attempts to get the sweet vape that I can have instantly with the CLR Eggie coil. Thank you for explaining that in such good detail.

50 bucks to ship to Aussie Land??? RIDONKULOUS. Agreed. Wow.

The 'Burgh, PA.
Yinz here seem to be finding the eGo ONE Mega V2 Tank to increasingly be OOS at many sites...

Has anyone run across rumors of an impending Mega V3...(with perhaps Top-Filling)???

(I ask only because I'd hate to load up on V2's if a V3 is on the horizon.)

[I bought a Cubis...found it OK...ordered 2 more...then 2 weeks later Joyetech came out with the Cubis-Pro...same price but with vastly improved top-filling ease... ]

@pufZeppelin : Did you ever get your Epetite squared away and operating properly?

:( nopie...

it simply doesn't do TC very good
set it all up nice and "it no vape good", remove tank and put on another "it vapes just fine"
so been using it in standard watts mode and it is a champ, very nice piece...

have been watching Daniel from

he is pretty darn solid and I trust his opinion
he claims evolv's TCR is off and needs adj, so when I feel like it I will make the fine tune... (Temperature Coefficient of Resistance)

- - -

now with the 75-C, TC works better, BUT, DJLsb also claims it needs 'tweaked'

fer sure a preference thing 'cause that's a big reason I LIKE the TC60w :p:):D

but you speak truth; the screen is a bit dinky, the fire button ain't the greatest, and a nicer internal 'chip' would be cool

but overall (and price) I REALLY like the TC60w... :w00t:

I just ordered the Joyetech evic mini, 2 of the 5 pack ti coils and a Kanger Subtank base to bring it up to over $30. The total with coupon shipped was 23.77. So your out of pocket doesn't have to be over 29.90 to get free shipping just the total of items ordered.

Got this from healthcabin already. Pretty fast delivery. Incredible deal for the Evic mini with ego mega tank for the 19.90. Great solid feeling mod too. Nice black finish but does show finger prints like crazy. Will get a silicon cover I guess.

That's the exact Kanger kit I started with! Two pens in a box. Nostalgic. :)

Still enjoy my Evic VT* Minis. Don't really need more than what they can do, so I'm currently in a pretty happy place, vape-wise. Still want to try a DNA mod to see what the hubbub is all about, though - and maybe a single-coil RDTA just for s&g.

Just in case you don't know, you can upgrade the software. If I remember correctly, TCR slots were not present in the original VTC Mini. Only thing you can't get is the clock - unless you go third-party, in which case you need to reset the clock every time you remove the battery. TCR 0092 works well for me with SS316L - the provided SS 316 has always vaped too hot for me.

Yes that is a great deal! Had to resist the impulse to order a couple for myself.

that's right.. latest firmware takes it to 80w and upgrades it to have all the actual vaping functionality of their newer mods.. I find the ss316 tc modes great out of the box.. trust me it's better than the others where you need to pump the temp so high to get any vape.. just set your temp a bit lower.. however i'll give the 92 setting a try to see the difference :) Thanks for the tip.
