So i've been heavily using a CLR 1.0 coil for the first time ever.. Comparing it to the 0,6 pro CL it's a tough call.
The 0.6 is the most exaggerated overrated coil in modern history (i am not joking, i have never seen a coil rating this out).
Joyetech rate it at 15 to 30 watts, however 20 is the absolute upper limit. I took one hit at 29 watts by mistake, just a couple seconds, and i have never, in 3 years of vaping, tastes such a burnt hit before. It tasted worse than any ashtray or real cigarette i have *ever* had. So be aware of this. It took hours to get the taste out of my mouth.
I have absolutely no idea why joyetech lie about this or who they get to test them, that then lies. It's ridiculous, and really, 17 watts is the comfort spot.
however, the CLR coil gives a better vape and throat hit at 14.3 watts and no detection of burnt hits. Joyetech rate it from 10-20 but i am too scared to even try above 15 lol.
The CLR coil IS amazing. I bought a packet months back from all the recommendations on the forums, and hadn't used them till now. It's a very very good coil.. I primed it alot and no gurgles ( i pretty much soaked the cotton before using it).
Airflow for MTL is superb with the controller just a bit open.
HOWEVER the pro CL coil works with TC mode as it's made from 316L, and this is where it shines. If you are NOT a tc vaper, i would thoroughly recommend you forget about the pro CL coil and use the CLR.
Also you need a mod with GOOD tc control in SS mode, and many of them are not. Ironically (or not?), for factory settings, i find joyetech's own SS mode out of the gate, works perfectly, where as DNA's and yihi are not even close, you need to fine tune the TCR and temps are a lot different. The DNA 60/250, and yihi's default 316l mode, barely vape well even at 470 F.. You need to pump it to 500 to start getting a good vape. Joyetech latest firmware on all their mods ( i have 5 joyetech mods they are all good in this regard), just works at 420-440F. In *TC* mode you can pump the watts to about 23. Only in TC mode. You could probably pump it to the claimed 30, IF you had a lower temp. But that kind of defeats the purpose as it would simply ramp up faster to the lower selected temp and give less of a vape. I also found 20 watts up to around 470F is fine and provides a real kick!
SO : CLR kills the pro CL for non TC, and for those with steady hands and patience, they can re make these themselves with TC wire if one should so choose.
Pro CL coil is great TC SS316L vape with no work required from user other than a few drops to prime, fill tank and vape (and a well tuned 316L mode/TCR on your mod).
