hello egoOne peeps
welcome in Krisma :toast:

wowzer, our little thread is blowing up a bit... :thumb:

glad to see the egoOne AND CLR being enjoyed

for durability purposes I used to use SOLID steel/aluminum fluid holders that you Could Not see at all inside,
so the little 'slots' never bothered me that much...

I've said it before, but I have " Slammed " the new version 2 fluid holder to the ceramic tile a couple times
and was shocked it didn't burst into pieces

I'm into subtank mini's and the fluid holders that use these coils

but as much as I like those " other " toppers/coils, they just sit while I enjoy the EXCELLENT egoOne/CLR combo

I've been wearin' this combo out, as of late :D

SOOOO many things here I want to respond to ..........
For some reason, @Dieseler - until I read this, I thought you might be FEMALE .... unless, of course, you ARE and always answer the door bare-chested! In which case, I bet your mailman wishes you had packages to deliver every day!
MORE IMPORTANTLY, did you say you got ONE HUNDRED CLR COILS???? If so, can I be your new best friend???
Well played!
giphy.gif

EDIT -- just caught that you said "Mail LADY" .... either way, carry on! One simply does not leave 100 coils unsigned for!!! Nekkid if you have to ....

For those of you who might be unaware, miss @Krisma designs some of the most beautiful mods you'll ever see for herself and her hubby. Maybe she'll honor us with some photos?

Oh, I forgot. She also does some of the most gorgeous drip tips you'll ever see.

You can always tell when I wake up. The catchup starts.

Thank you for the compliments. We have fun making things that are unique and it keeps vaping interesting. I will round up some pics for you. A lot of them are in my blog.

Krisma's blog | E-Cigarette Forum

My current play is with alcohol inks and resin panels for my billet boxes. All the drip tips you see on any of the gear in my pics are all ones we make. We are chatting about the process here.

I did a bit of a side by side comparison of the ego one mega v2's and the odyssey in the tootle puffers thread (before I found this thread) this is what I wrote

The other day I picked up two new MTL tanks from HG. One was the Totally Wicked Odyssey and the other the Ego One Mega V2. This is not a full on review but rather a bit of a side by side comparison of them.

Both take standard Joyetech CLL & CLR coils. I have always liked these coils but not the tanks they fit so when I saw the new ego one I was intrigued enough to give them a try. The Odyssey on the other hand has been on my wish list for 6 months but I felt the cost was prohibitive. Finding them in clearance sales plus some coupon discounts made them affordable.

Firstly the Ego One Mega v2

I have been testing the ego one mega v2 using a joyetech CLR coil rebuilt to 2 ohms with rayon wicking. (8.5w) What a brilliant little tank that flies under the radar of the whole cubis system. The look is similar to the cubis (except airflow is at the bottom)

The CLR coil heads have to be the easiest rebuildable coil head around but the early ego one tanks drove me nuts. The cutouts were too narrow to see your eliquid and big enough to make you believe you could.
biggrin.png
GT even created the frank n tank to get a better look and flavour. The tron improved it slightly but was a bit odd looking and then we have this new version. The tank is simple and stylish. You can see your eliquid and even the bubbles to show its wicking properly and best of all it's cheap to buy and setup.

The tank is bottom fill and the airflow control has a great range. I take small vapes and at 1/4 open is restrictive enough to match my style and yet wide open is a great vape for restricted DTL Flavour is very good (that's a bit dependent on other things like your coil and AFC)

I like it enough to think I will get another couple while they are still available. I could only find the tank separately at Heaven Gifts but it is widely available as a battery/tank combo.

Parameters

Capacity: 4ml
Size: 22mm (D)
Color: Black, Blue, Orange, Red, Silver, White
Thread: 510 thread

ODYSSEY by Totally Wicked

The second tank I have been testing is the Totally Wicked Odyssey tank. A more expensive option but also using joyetech CLL &CLR coils. Setup is the same 2.0ohm wicked with rayon and 8.5W

This tank is incredibly well made. Threads were buttery smooth, airflow ring is a bit tight (may loosen with use). The cutout window for eliquid is slim but strangely easy to see and again the airflow range is tight to light restrictive. No whistling at all. They advertise this as the last tank you will buy and it is so well made that I can understand people using this for years.

Flavour is brilliant.......again that would depend on how you set up your coils (CLL factory or CLR rebuild yourself) also a bottom fill tank.

Very impressed. I am not sure I would pay full price but at clearance plus discounts (about USD$30) I think they are a very good buy. This one was bought at the same time as the v2 mega and is being compared directly to it.

Differences.
Odyssey is a tougher tank. More SS and feels strong.
Performance is about the same with a slight advantage to the odyssey in flavour.
Airflow range on both is good and I think would suit pretty much every MTL and even a light restrictive direct lung vaper.
Capacity is the same.
Coil usage is the same (CLL factory or CLR rebuildable)
Value for money goes to the ego one mega V2 (less than half the cost)

Parameters

Size: 22mm (D) x 59mm (L)

Capacity: 4ml

Color: Silver

At the moment the difference is aesthetics, the look and weight of each of them. And of course value for money
Odyssey left, ego on mega v2 right

Krisma thanks for the information .
Thinking about buying an expensive tank not seen much from Italy that has a little over 3ml capacity,
glass tanks, triton o-rings uses clr coils and top unscrews to fill , stainless material other than glass tank.

Its not cheap though.

Talked with someone who owns one and says it never leaked for him and taste is very good.

I suppose because I disliked the actual ego one tanks I never committed to these coil heads outside my egrips. Plus I do have a few lifetimes supplies of aspire BVC's. The cubis range made it to my top 5 but without hesitation these have replaced the cubis set. I even tinkered with a bridge so that I could use these coil heads in my billet boxes (it worked but was a bit under worked in the stability factor) if I am going to stay with the CLR coils I might have to revisit and use them with everything.

Thank you so much for the review and pics! I was totally in the dark about the Odyssey tank and will have to take a close look at them. How did you hear of the Odyssey and what made you try it? I may get one if the threads are stainless steel.

The threads on my Tron are just beginning to wear a little and they're starting to look like some kind of coated brass. At least the threads seem to be made of a little harder material than those on my Eleaf GS tanks, though - which is a good thing.

Really glad you mentioned that the the eliquid level is "strangely easy to see", as that narrow slit of a viewing window would have otherwise put me off.

Edit: Oops - you heard about the Odyssey from the tootle puffer thread. I need to learn to absorb before my fingers hit the keyboard.

When I retired my egrip I had a lot of the CLR coils left so I went hunting for tanks that used them. I setup some of the mixed eleaf/ego one tanks and bought a couple of the older Wismec armor tanks but they had frosted tanks and I didn't like the look (plus they were coated brass) and at the same time heaven gifts started stocking the odyssey. I researched it everywhere and was happy with the reviews and then I tried various ways to buy it cheaper but shipping direct to Australia from totally wicked UK or US site was just too much even with all their sales and coupons, so I waited and watched. Eventually it was moved to clearance at HG (still expensive but better) and I finally bit the bullet when I could buy the ego one mega V2's solo and also take advantage of sales/coupons.

I don't mind paying for quality gear but it was only an addition to my other vaping array so I had plenty to go on with while I waited. I have two now and I have just ordered some more ego ones. :p
