If anyone is looking to add to their stash, Vaporrange has a fantastic deal right now on the Evic VTC Mini (60W) with the eGo One Mega tank. It's $29.95 for the kit, including shipping. Great company. I've ordered from them several times, and their shipping is very fast. I received a white kit today and just ordered a cyan one (those are the only two colors they have left). I wanted to wait before ordering the second one to be sure the Mega was actually part of the deal. It is.

I thought about waiting to see how much they were during the Fourth of July, but every time I've tried waiting on a sale to nab a short-stupply item, it has sold out before I got it. I love the mini and the eGo Mega, and $29.95 is hard to beat, so I went ahead and ordered a second one.

I consider myself well set for mods and tanks now, though I do plan to pick up another Pico during the Fourth sales just because I really like them.

I agree with all of the above! See Cheech, you're not the only 'enabler'. I paid around 30 for each of the Evic mini's so that's like getting an EO for free with that deal and I have been wanting at least one more Evic mini. Um, give me a minute. Have to warm up the trigger finger.

 I think I got the next to the last White. Wanted the white tank anyhow even though I have a white mod already. Back ups for backups. :p
Preparation is the key to success!
Preparation H is the key to sitting comfortably!
You like the tank, you like the mod. It's a good day!

Someone please order the cyan so we can learn to love the color together. By the way, I love the white. It's a different shade than most white mods/attys. Not bright white. Hard to say exactly what it is...lol
I have the extra battery covers with that color. I like it. I was going to order the cyan kit but they're gone. I've been wanting that color all along (I have a White and a Gray). They only had 2 whites left so I grabbed one and obviously there is only 1 white kit left after I ordered. I believe it won't take long for it to be bought up. :)

Yeah, I don't really mind the cyan. Might actually like it. Glad you got in on the deal before the white ones were gone. I obviously got one of the final cyans about two hours ago. I now have a black one, a white one and a cyan on the way. Might spring for a stainless along the way (tank only) but don't actually need it. I really like the look of stainless attys, though.

OK, it's possible I just answered my own question. Just made another coil using the same 5/64th bit, 7 wraps with 28ga kanthal. This one is 1.32 ohms. The first coil (.13) was extremely tight because I was paranoid about it fitting into the coil structure. The second coil (1.32) is spaced. Would that usually make such a difference or is there something else I'm not seeing?

28 gauge on 5/64 bit wrapped six times gave me 1.3 or so...it settled at 1.1 ohms.
Dunno about spaced or not as I space all mine.
Re-doing it again. The last one was very unstable with resistance jumping from .17 to 1.5 after I wicked it, put it in the atty and primed. I double checked how I capture the leads, but it is correct. I noticed some of the spacing was inconsistent but not sure if that matters. Will try again.

I don't think it's the spacing, more likely one of your legs was touching the side of the coil.
Are you keeping your mandrel in the coil while capturing the legs with the insulator and pin?
Also helps to give the legs a little tug after capturing the legs with the insulator and then pin
to ensure the legs are straight.

Yeah, I'm going through all the proper procedures, but with unsteady hands, it's a bit tough to get everything as precise as it needs to be. I just rebuilt it with six wraps and spaced very slightly. Wicked, in atty and on mod at 1.30. Hoping it remains stable but so far it's fine. Thanks, Cheech.

One good thing about screwing up a few times, you get to practice. This last one was a lot easier to do than the first.

Wire is cheap as chips so practice isn't expensive.
If you have doubts about what may be causing a short in your DIY coil, take a little piece of paper
and slide it between the coil legs and the coil body, kinda like an insulator. If your coil ohms change,
you know one of the legs is touching the side. You can roll the paper into a tube that fits down in
the coil body to check this. Easy-peasy!
Nobody came out of the womb knowing this stuff, we've all been there!

Thanks, Cheech, again. You're always a big help. So far, my latest effort is stable and vaping quite well at 1.32. Question: I have 28ga kanthal because it was mentioned so often and seems to be the work horse of all the types of wire. If I wanted to experiement, would you suggest SS, 26ga kanthal, 30ga kanthal? None of the above? All the above? It's not an urgent need or anything. I'm just getting to the point where I'm feeling more settled in this whole venture, and I'd eventually like to experiment with different things. The past few days have been my most satisfying vaping overall, so I'm pretty content for the time being. Just asking for future reference.

 As far as I've read, there are many people that are suggesting the kanthal is 28g on the originals. We're thinking more along the lines of 26. I just received a spool of 26g yesterday and the stock clr sure looks like 26 gauge to me although they will all work in this tank. :)

I'm currently experimenting with 28 gauge kanthal and 26 gauge. I've never worked with TC wire and probably won't for the foreseeable future. Either 28 or 26 seems to work great on this coil.
With the 26 gauge kanthal, 6 wraps put the coil at .80 ohms, but I'm still playing with it.
