Any sub tank mini owners care to share how you build? (i.e., gauge, number of wraps , diameter). Of course I'm taking out the stock coil and rebuilding just for fun!

I like 29g Kanthal, 2.5 mm ID, 6-7 wraps or so.

29g is much easier to work with, especially if you're using a gizmo. I get perfect contact coils on my Kuro every time--almost no pinching or adjusting needed ever, just a few quick pulses to check the build and get rid of any impurities. I clean my wire before I build the coil, so the process is absolutely painless. If you prefer a spaced coil, just stretch it a tad.

Good luck!

Thanks very much! I appreciate the reply! Yes, I'm loving my coiling jig SO much. However, I do run into issues sometimes with the wire overlapping. Does that ever happen to you?

With puf on this one...spaced coils every time.

And puf, you didn't ask me but I followed Sugar and Spice's link last week to FT for that beautiful lavender STM and also bought a sky blue as well. Plus 2 more rba heads. That brings my total to 10 Subtank Mini's including 2 mini Mini's. :)

It did--at the beginning. The idea is to let the gizmo do the coiling--if you push too hard your loops will overlap. Watch some videos. I'm not sure which gizmo you have, but the idea is the same. Don't push--guide your wire gently! Also, thicker wires work better, hence my recommendation to use 29 g.

STM is washed, dried filled and I'm really enjoying it! Was fun to build on and the flavor is awesome!

Congrats!

One more tip--if you want perfectly straight legs, over wind your coil by several loops, snip the wire, turn it over on the rod, grab the end of the wire with some pliers or tweezers and gently pull to unwind the extra outer loops (repeat on the other side of the coil). Voila! Perfect coil with straight legs.

The Tarot Nano is a cool little mod. I uploaded to show how it compares, size wise, to the Pico. Oh and bought a little Cool Fire Ace. Not sure I'm liking the tank that came with it and the battery doesn't last that long. Its a tiny mod though!

EITHER I didn't know or I don't remember  (so sad)

so you got them then ?
I really like the STM
I think it vapes very good, looks good, built well and gives you options...
tho I always thought (and still do) they are a little pricey (but it is about the most COMPLETE kit of any)

:smokie:

I picked up the lavender tank that Sugar and Spice linked to at FT. Got tank and base and while I was looking, I saw the sky blue so I picked that one up with the base. I didn't buy into the normal one I think you linked to. I already have 6 of those. All coiled with SS and different colored o-rings. I think they're great tanks. I did drill out the juice holes in the prebuilt coils to 3mm so I could put 3mm coils in them.

Are those just skins on the two Picos on the left, @Chemtx ? Very nice! Where did you get them?

I can't ever get the wicking right on the STM. Maybe I should stick to cartos! LOL

Yep, just skins. I ordered from J Wraps. I've just don't have the artistic skill that Kat has, but I do look on in envy

In fact, I have been thinking about replacing the wrap on the Pico with the blue eggroll. Something that will match nicely!

Unfortunately my spaced coil skills aren't the best. :?:
Ain't ya got a spare srews/nuts/bolts jar around the house? Find yourself a small machine screw to wind on. Makes the dadgum purdiest spaced coils you'll ever see.

I've been intrigued with this forever..what do you do when you're finished the coil unscrew it?
