Yes but I'm not sure that I want a different animal.

Ain't gonna. I'm very happy vaping the way I've been vaping.

Hey, don't shoot. Just reporting. :D

Just in case it turns out that we really do need to control our temperature more accurately to prevent all kinds of nasties from appearing in our (Kanthal) vapor, even at low wattages, I want to be prepared. AFAIK, the jury is still out, but who knows. Better safe than sorry.

If I can get a good and easy vape with TC, why not switch?

Well for one thing I'm not convinced it's better than the way I vape and for another thing I only have two mods that will even do tc.

Oh dear. I noticed that FT stopped labeling their packages "electronic cigarettes" also.

In Canada, having it labelled "e-cigarettes" is okay, the problem is shipping lithium batteries with an unapproved method.

But "children toys" are a-okay ;)

Can you imagine the customs inspectors face if they had opened that package..... childrens toys..... wha...???? o_O

Fran I'm with you. I vape at 7W

    Mine always say "electronic components"

Mine says 'Electronic Gadgets'. They started this, at least on my packages, back last summer.

    Mine says Electronic Gadgets too.

:) This is what took place some time ago in FT thread:

I have a question for you, @Noel. I've been hearing that you are labeling your packages with "Package contains E-cig" or some such? Is this true?

It is true. Under Descriptions of Contents, it reads: "Electronic cigarette accessories."

(snip) Looking at the packaging of my last order. Two labels one clearly says "Electronic cigarette accessories" - value US $ 20.0

(snip) Yes. The package will be marked as "E-cigarette accessories". However, if you want us to change to other wording, you can contact CS team and we will help you for this.
    Cheers
    Noel

    Well, we did ask... ;)

Oh gosh I think I said that forever. All thru my Evods and PT2s and Lemo V1s. But I was constantly taking my drill bits to them to get more air. I was seriously thinking of drilling my LEMOs when a friend sent me 2 egg rolls. If I EVER need more air than these provide I might as well go full blown cloud chaser!
Yup. The Egg Roll and 1.0 CLR is nirvana for me. Got a red Tron S with a 1.0 coil sitting on a red Evic Mini, changed the wick a while ago, and my French Vanilla Creme is making me grin all over right now.

Thank you. Don't know about this TC stuff. I don't generally go over 10W.

    nodding-yes-smiley-emoticon.gif

Same here--but TC is a different animal altogether. You really need to throw more watts at that ss coil to make it perform well. It doesn't make the vape hotter--it just speeds up the coil heating process. At low watts, ss takes forever to come to temperature, methinks.

Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.

Dunno about you being wrong....... you're prolly right. But I'm with Fran and Krew. I need not throw more wattage at my vapes to have them perform perfectly, nor do I need to make the coils speed up. I like-a their speed as they are!

Color me non-TC, or PC, in most cases. ;)

I'm so confused now? How many Tron tank versions are there, anyway? T? S?

I thought we didn't like Tron tanks.

We DON'T? OMG...... I hate Tron tanks then!!!!!!!

Yes but I'm not sure that I want a different animal.

WAY BACK when we all vaped in VOLTS (VV variable volts)
then stupid evolv showed us how it really should be, Watts (vw) and we gotts confused
but just converted volts to watts and it is the same thing - Find YOUR setting and vape Happy...

same deal now, but they are showing us to use the new setting ~TEMP CONTROL~
they made it stupid easy, just click it a few times to what YOU want and go about your vaping bizzness
now you can adjust hot or cold BUT your coil will ALWAYS atomize perfectly and you NO LONGER risk dry hits and burnt wicks & even prolong your battery life cycle

it is easy to do, most of our devices have it included as an option - so just pay attention, set it up AND USE IT
makes NO SENSE to say your set in your ways or it's not for you
what happens when that is ALL THAT IS OFFERED; just the way we will vape in the NEAR Future

it performs the same as one is used to - nothing dangerous or complicated
and YES, it will supply a "tootle-puffers" style laid back easy going vape _ it's not HotRodsToHell / cloud chuking just 'cause ya use TEMP CONTROL

so give IT and yourself a break and just do it - IT WORKS

Pufferzzz, on another note...... your Balien is quite kute. Do you happen to have a "normal" sized mod to compare it to and show a pic, perhaps? I've never touched a Pico, and I'm definitely trying to get a handle on the hand size.

Sweetie, I get that YOU like it. I don't see a reason for it. I'm sorry. :(

Right now my jury is out on the benefits, which is NOT to say that I think anyone else should not enjoy the process if they feel like it! I just don't believe it's the end all and be all for all of us. :)

@pufZeppelin a few dozen pages back you said I might be able to use 316L for TC on the VT battery set to low.
Can't recall if you said Ni or Ti for the TC setting?

try Ti first then set watts/power as low as possible

you have to think of the TCR as a " multiplyer " that's all

all based on the resistance of a wire chemistry

    upload_2017-3-23_21-37-40.png

    so rounding the numbers off,
    •SS is 100
    •Ti is 300
    •Ni is 600
it is easy to see why Ni can't fit in the CLR

    ;)

_REASONS_ there are plenty - it is NOT some exotic technique from the moon (((evolution))) - volts / watts / TC
I'm not sayin' I need you to try it, but sayin it has no reason you can see
jus sayin' it works neat and it's cool...

WHY ARE MY WORDS SO HUUUUUUUUUUGE in your QUOTE?????????????

Whatcha mean I'm not paying attention, Puffzzz? Oh but I am, and have been. (for kwite some time now) I don't see the reasons for ME, for MY vapes.

I don't get dry hits, never have. I don't burn my wicks, never have. And my batt life is marvelous.

That's all, sweetie! I have zero against the idea, honestly. If it's neat & cool, then by all means enjoy the hell out of it! I just find it unnecessary for my vape style. (And just by the way, I have used TC... and if I also found it neat & cool, I'd be allllllllll over it.)

Balien...... oopsie..... B'Alien. KatSpeak. Baby Alien.

I'm sure you're right if you say it works. I respect your expertise.

However, your statement above, doesn't apply to everyone. Definitely not to me. I'm 67 years old, my life expectancy is 85. I have enough provaris to use daily, even factoring in some of them not working more than 3 years, plus I have enough other mods and tanks to easily last at least 20 years. My mods and tanks are perfect for me even though most of them cant do TC. That is not to say it's not fun to look at other, new, shiny stuff but I have no reason to buy anything else.

Kanthal works for my style of vaping (3.3-3.4V, 1.5 ohm). Plus I vape a very mild menthol so I have no need to enhance my flavor. I have been vaping this for over two years with the same tank on the same mod, and havent felt the need to experiment. Learning about TC would be a waste of my time.

I dont have to worry about what will be "offered" in the future or what way other vapers might vape "in the near future". I'm happy where I am. That is not to say some day I might not decide to try something else, but knowing myself, I sort of doubt it.

After having been on ECF for several months I have come to the conclusion that vapers belong to two camps, and I dont mean TPs ovs cloud chasers. One camp is those who have found their happy place with simple juice, V/W, same ohms day in and day out. The other camp are the hobbyists who like to experiment, try new flavors, new devices, new tanks. Bottom line for both is that we stay off cigs but we just do it differently from one another. And that's ok. We must respect each other's way and not try to push either side to try the other.

Funny. After I posted my comment, I just read yours and we said pretty much the same thing. I read all the posts discussing these new ways because I like learning new things but I too dont need to espouse them.

And for the record I too have never had a dry hit, or burn my wicks. And I'm very happy with my battery life.

Yes, I noticed that Bea, and it made me smile.

I think TC is awesome for those for whom it is awesome!

But just as I would never tell peeps NOT to use it...... welp, I think we got the message, Mr. Sigaloff. ;)

Hey! Who you calling a hobbyist?!?!

I will admit I went a... er, am still going... a bit nuts. However, that's my nature. When I find something that reaonates, I dive in and do not come up until I know it all. To that end, I have way too many mods, even more tanks, RTAs, RDAs, and I vape every style...

Stepdot, on the other hand, is VERY pragmatic. She wants what works and nothing else. She started with 24 nic in automatics and would go back to them if the switches and batteries were more reliable. Now, she has a Boreas she loves, an Engine RTA she's struggling to love, and a TF-RDTA she likes. They are perched atop either a Reuleaux RX200, an RX200s, or a Cuboid. She cares not for TC...

Oh @Shawn Hoefer I didnt hurt your feelings I hope. I didn't mean "hobbyists" in a derogatory manner. It was only meant as the opposite of those who are not interested in experementing.

    Maybe not the right word?
What? Who you accusing of having hurt feelings?!?!

    Lol...

No feeling hurt. I agree... 2 camps... and we have both of them here in my.own house...
