I have, (had thrown away today) an Ego-T that I put in my pocket yesterday that burned my leg. For some reason it would not shut down. I had to actually remove the atomizer to keep it from burning up. The light on the ego was not on but would still burn with my atomizer. I hit the button 5 times and light flashed, I put the atomizer back on and it heat up as if I was vaping. No matter what I put on the battery it would immediately heat the atomizer or cartomizer. Atomizer worked fin on other batteries. I was wondering if anybody has experienced that problem in their usage? After contacting the seller I was told it was out of warranty as I purchased it on July 30th this year.

Sorry to hear that. It's actually one of the reasons that I don't suggest the ego batteries very often. Not all the batteries have this issue but all the models do seem to have issues with shorts. I just can't see spending the money on them when they are basically just a large disposable 510. I get it that they are the perfect size for many people and worth it for that. It's just that for me it's not a cig it's a PV and large battery mods that take 18650's are the deal.

Good luck and no you are not alone.

Sounds like the relay/FET was blown from the excess current. Unfortunately, we're putting a lot of power through some rather tiny components and occasionally shoddy QA/QC practices. This is one reason why I've fallen in love with mechanical mods. You may destroy an $8 battery, but the mod is generally tough enough to stand up to it.

Either way, I've never had that experience in particular, but I'm fairly neurotic about making sure those switches stay open whenever I'm not intentionally using them (I'll just remove the battery whenever I'm in motion for the most part). May not be an option for you but removing the atty prior to transport is what I would do. I've been told I'm obsessive compulsive about it though, so take that with a grain of salt.

I have several Cheep China jobs (not sure if they are cheep yet, but they were Very good price) I have not had this experience as of yet. but one did die due to excess fluid leaking down into the Battery. makes me wonder if this could have been the cause for your battery, Grab it out of the bin and Pull it apart if you feel you can, then have a look at the PCB and Electronic components that are mounted on it including the Button.
Cheers.

Yes I guess it was a real Ego-T? The battery had Ego-t printed towards the end. I did tear it apart and there was no liquid inside the battery or the circuitry. But I will keep that in mind about keeping the battery ejuice free.

Thumbs up! I just got a new email from the company saying they are sending me a new replacement. That's cool!
