I was so excited to receive my Joye Ego-T system. Prior to that, I had been using the standard Ego system, both dripping and cartridges. I've never been a carto fan, so they don't come into play in this review.
I have to say, I'm not really impressed with the tank system. Not having to fill a cartridge is great, as is not having to carry a bottle of juice around to drip with. But, considering the price of the atty's, the tank system leaves much to be desired. Convenience has not been worth the lack of flavor and throat hit. I did try out a few different batteries, as well as my full stock of T atty's, just to rule out any atty or power issue.
Taste: My sweetened juices come through with only a sweet sensation. I wouldn't really call it a flavor. There's a touch of sweet on the tip of my tongue, but nothing else. And these are all flavors that are almost overwhelming through a typical 501 atty. Unsweetened juices give off a muted flavor that you really have to strain to find.
Throat hit: Even after following other tips by users, the throat hit is pretty much non-existant. If that's something you love, and I do, then the tank may not be for you.
Side by side with the standard Ego atty setup, I'd choose the standard setup if I'm looking for flavor and hit, and the tank if all I want is a hint of flavor, convenience, and the hand-to-mouth motion.
The USB Passthrough battery is AWESOME! I have not touched any of my other Ego batteries since receiving this gem. It is such a great idea to offer a product that is a standard passthrough, but can just be unplugged and taken with you. It eliminates accidentally grabbing a dead battery, and reduces the amount of 'stuff' to carry around. I will absolutely be purchasing more of these once I can find just the batteries without having the added expense of a cord coming with each one.
