eGo-T Battery Issue - troubleshooting

Here are the circumstances of this issue:

  • I've had this battery since Dec/Jan, no issues. I use it with a Vivi Nova tank.
  • Old charger shorted out over the weekend, would kill anything it was connected to, including a computer, wall charger, and car charger.
  • Bought new charger today, worked earlier today, no issue.
  • Mid-day, quit charging when connected to my work desktop.
  • Upon inspection when I got home, the following happens:

  1. When plugged into charger and you hit the button, just flashes despite how loose or tight the tank is on.
  2. If you remove the tank, hit the button, have solid light.
  3. Red charging light is only on while pushing the button and maybe up to 10 seconds after release.

What I've done:
  • Cleaned the battery connection between that and the tank with q-tips. This is a regular procedure.
  • Tried using tweezers to raise the connection in the battery.
  • Done several google searches, can't find anything that fits this issue.

At this point, I'm stuck with solutions with no help until I go to the vapor store tomorrow on my lunch so thank you if this is salvageable. If not, off to buy a new battery. Thank you for your help!

I think you need to throw that twist out. Sounds VERY unsafe.

Not sure this is what's happening to you, but on one of my ego twists the threads no longer fit with the charger. It just sits loosely on the threads causing it to stop charging. My solution is to use locking pliers to hold it on the charger. I now only use this device as a last resort back up.

This indicates your tank has a short. Have you tried a new coil in the nova? Does it seem to charge properly when the vivi nova is totally disconnected?

If the battery charges properly without the tank attached then the issue is wholly the tank, if not - replace the battery asap.
