I'm building a 3.7v box mod with an Ego connection that runs off an 18650. I just found the Ego t electronics kit and I was wondering if it would be possible to place the electronics assembly in the box to replace the switch and the led. Everything seems like it would work but I'm worried about getting it all together and having it fail. Also I think it would be nice to have the five click shut off on a box mod. Here is a link to the Ego Electronics kit and connectors: Mods - E-Cig Battery Connectors

I plan on calling them to see if there is any voltage limiting in the kit and if there is still a five click shut off on it.

Hopefully someone will take my idea and put it to good use.
I'll post a new thread once I have everything put together.

According to Liberty Flights, Their model is the 5 click on and off. They also have the light us switch in them as well. As soon as their stock is back up I plan on ordering a few. I should have my box mod together this Saturday at the latest. It won't have an led in it but I will have it built. My next box mod will have the ego switch assembly inside of it. I just have to find a way to encase it in the box. If anyone has any ideas or experience with epoxying or hot gluing switch assemblies let me know.

I made a Mod using ego-T electronics kit, but when I replace old battery with new mod doesn't work.

Actually, I got two sets of batteries, 4pcs. 18350 (1200 mAh) and set of 4 16340 (protected), well charged, showing 4.11 - 4.2V.

Mod still works on old 18350 (fully charged 3.9V), I have three pcs., works with all.

Is there any "over voltage" protection on ego-T electronics kit. There is 4.2V protection for overcharge, but should it work in both direction: charging and discharging???

ideas ???

I personally don't understand why you would want to use what is probably one of the weakest links in these types of batteries. Are you planning to use an eGo type screw on charger?

And even though it's listed as an eGo-T, it's probably made by some 3rd tier manufacturer. The batteries seldom fail, it's that type of switch assembly that usually goes south.

Hi WillyB,

Looking out of context. it's not reasonable, but, ...

To avoid "turners" job, to use existing equ., (remeber MacGyver - something from nothing), ... I made pipe mod.

Broken DSE601 pipe was (is) base for my mod, mean there is battery holder, (-)spring, (+)lock pin, finished body, there is even electronics, but no manual switch, originaly pipe has "air flow sensor" switch (throned avay, coz a space in SS-neck-tube).

After cleaning "not needed" parts I made Genesis atty in SS-neck-tube of pipe, battery holder was already there, just power control and switch missing.

ego-T electronics looks like fast solution to get:
- 5 click on/off
- manual switch where I needed
- power control.

I made a post on New Member Forum, you can find few details more if you like

All suggestions are welcome, I'm trying to find better solution, I can post some photos (maybe)?!

Realize this is an old post, but I just wanted to add that I've had a nice experience putting one of these circuit boards into a 3x AAA batt box running two 10440's in parallel.

They do have small leads [like every atty and carto I've ever taken apart] and I would still never try a DC 1.5ohm carto on these. They also make for a super easy build and their size provides some nice flexibility. I had plenty of room to stick the connector internally very near the bottom inside the box and ended up with a durable, pocket-able mod that works perfect with a 2.2ohm carto. I'll take/post a pic if anyone's actually interested.

These are also on clearance at GoodProphets here: eGo-T Circuit Board Same price as Liberty Flights unless you buy 5 or more - then their just 2.49 ea, so of course I got 5.

Note that the two I already have do NOT have the 5 click protection, but these ones that just came in do. [I only happen to know they just came in since it was mentioned they were coming in the newsletter and I immediately started stalking the site]

It will work. But: these separately sold boards usually don't support real output stabilization and mosfets on the boards are weak (can be burnt out easily). Anyway if you resolder mosfet to more powerful one (I use IRLML6402), you can use these boards as just an electronic button with 5-click protection and overdischarge protection :)
