Hi,

i bought a ego-t recently but i havent received it yet.

Looking around in the forum i saw that many users had leaking issues with their ego-t

so i tought to my self (what a wonderful world)....''there must be an easy way to fix this''

so i went and did a little research on the forum to find that ''quick and easy fix''.
But to my biggest suprise, there doesnt seem to have any!!

No one ever figured out what was causing it to leak? like the exact reason?

and did anyone ever tried to contact joyetech to complain or to get some infos about it ?

I should receive it today...
Maybe its just a matter of knowing how to use it? (like know that you have to insert the tank all the way until you ear that ''click'')

I should get it today so i will post an update on it....

some people had no leaking issues and then it suddently began.....could it be the atty that causes all of it? could it be because after several uses, you have to change the tanks?

We'll see later on today!

got mine a few months ago, blow from battery end to remove primer, insert empty tank until it clicks in place to pierce cap, remove tank and fill, reinsert tank screw onto battery and vape

batteries should be charged first, but any ego/riva battery will work just they dont have the 5 click lock feature which is the only difference between ego t and normal ego batteries.

and i have never replaced any tanks just washed in cold water.

also a little hint that actually works, remove the mouth cap and take the baffle out and put the cap back, the taste seems much better

Just a quick question. Have you been using the original cartridges all this time? or How long do your cartridges last? Thing is, I get a little bit of liquid around the tank, very little in the bottom. No big deal though. I'm just wandering if you used them a lot and if you get the moist I get on mine.

~sorry if this gets double posted - said I already posted it but wouldn't show in the thread~

Bump for this common problem. I decided to try the Ego tank system so today I bought an atty, a box of tanks, and an extra pack of end caps. Obviously I'd heard some of them had leaking issues, while others didn't. I was hoping I'd be in the latter group. Unfortunately not.

Filled my tank, put in on the atty making sure it was the whole way down. Worked great right off the bat. 2 hours later I'm sitting in front of the computer, pick it up to vape on it and find juice running down the sides. Great. So I cleaned it all up, refilled the tank, put on a new replacement cap. Seemed like I was good to go again. Later this evening we headed out to dinner and I pull out the Ego to take a few drags before we walk inside. What do you know, juice all over my hands again. This time I had to wait till we got seated just to get a napkin to wrap it up in to keep juice form getting on everything.

Ok, so I knew going into it that I might have a leak now and then and have to replace a cap occasionally. But every 2 hours? Are you kidding me? And for the record, I don't mistreat my PVs, don't put them in my back pocket and sit on them or anything. What is it that's causing these to spontaneously spring leaks? I read above about priming the atty for 2 seconds before taking a drag, and I haven't tried that yet. But seriously is there anything else I can do to remedy this? If you guys know of any other threads with solutions please point me towards them.

Not all atty's and tanks are created equal. Mine are all Joye official products and they are still not quality-made. Some tanks won't fit other atty's, it's just wierd.

I still recall, with my first starter kit, I received 5 tanks. 1 of the tanks wouldn't go into the second atomizer no matter how hard I pushed. It was just maybe warped or something. What do ya know? That's the exact same tank that kept leaking on me. No cracks either, but there's probably a slight gap in the cap somewhere.

Also, I get leaking within the tank, in the airway, so juice can come spurting out of the little hole at the end of the mouth piece. Just chuck the leaky tank away, use a new one.

I also recently switched to DC cartomizers. So much better. Better flavor too.

maybe for those who have leaking issues, you guys are using liquid that is too thin. The ego-t seems well designed and the connection between the battery and the atty consists of very fine threads. In order for it to be leaking there you must be using super thin liquid. I read it isn't recommended that you use 100% pg but a mix of both pg and vg on the ego-t. Same deal if its leaking at the seam between the cartridge and the atty. Maybe your cartridge isnt pushed in all the way for it to seal or you are using liquid that is too thin.

Both my ego-t type A atties have always had slight leaks coming tank/atty connection. For the first couple weeks this wasn't much of an issue, the leaks weren't that severe. The real problems arise when the atties start clogging up a bit and the draw stiffens. At this point the leaks will increase in severity in addition to delivering globules of juice into my mouth.

I've ordered a liquinator to hopefully provide a more stable long-term vaping solution, but in the mean time I wanted to try out a dry burn on one of my atties to see what would happen.

I pulled off the tank and blew through the atty end while holding the button down for 4-5 second burns. The first burn immediately started producing a ton of vapor from the intake holes but produced no burning smells. Right at the end of the second burn it gave that same burning smell you would get from running one dry and I stopped.

Blew it out again and poured a few drops of juice onto the needle and inserted a fresh tank. After one or two buffs the taste was back to normal and the draw was significantly lighter and was once again producing clouds of vapor. So far the tank doesn't appear to be leaking and I have no juice in my mouth.

How to get them to never leak:

1. Never remove the cap from the tank, fill with a syringe or drip in through the hole. Once that cap has been removed it will usually never seal back up 100%

2. Don't fill the tank all the way, leave a little room.

I followed that advice I found on the forums and the only time I ever had leaks was was when not following that advice or not pushing the tank all the way down in the atomizer.

Aside from that, the Ego Tank is a great device. Though none of the atomizers I have used (A and B style from different sources) last very long and don't seem to respond to cleaning as well as other devices, so I moved back to devices that last a little longer.

Mine leaks occasionally, but only a small amount. I have problems with juice getting in the part of the tank it's not supposed to be in. I think it has something to do with heat because it only seems to happen while I'm at work, we have no A/C there. I rinse my tanks out and reuse them when it happens. I don't see anything really going wrong with the tanks themselves. I have been using this system about a month, and both of my atties are now not working. But I am thinking it's the company I got them from. I hear only good things about dragonfly, but the bat they sent me is also a dud. I charged it overnight when I first got it, but it only lasts about 30 minutes. I thought they were the only sellers of tanks, but now I see cignot has them and they are cheaper, so hopefully the atty they are sending me lasts longer than the two I got from dragonfly.

It's not a perfect system. None of them are. But it's manageable. A useful fiddling distraction from stress. Beats smoking.

The big eGo Mega cartomizers are maybe the least trouble, if you want efficient. The Echo ones look promising.

The Tank system has a lot of tight tolerance parts to go wrong, it's finicky. Nobody has completely solved that. It tends to leak, and the atomizers are hard to clean. But it's nice enough to fiddle with.

If your juice isn't matched to whatever hardware you use, you either outvape the feeder, and get a dry bad taste, or the feeder outruns you, and you get leaking. If the juice is too thick, a tiny bit of water solves that, and if too thin, more glycerin.

Personally I'm happy with 95% VG, a trace of flavoring, a trace of water. Nicotine doesn't seem to matter any longer for day-in day-out vaping. PG makes me sleepy. But I do keep a cartomizer with a hi-nicotine hi-PG booster, just for those hi-stress moments, and to stimulate the intestines ;-)

The eGo-T fares well carried battery end up. Taste-wise, there's nothing better than dripping straight onto a 510 or Mega atomizer bridge. Each of the atomizers cartomizers carts etc has pros and cons. They are all of some use, I think. Having a bunch of 510 compatible elements is good for mix and match. These are all just glorified drip systems, in which you postpone pulling out that little bottle to a greater or lesser degree.
