so ive upgraded from a prosmoke to a joye 510. im about to receive an ego-t 1000 mah on saturday. ive heard they're notorious for leaking. a friend of mine has one and i asked him about the leaks and he says he stops them with some rubber something that goes in the atty.. ( not the ones in the tanks) he says they cost very cheap for a pack of 10. hes a casual friend so i dont talk to him regularly. what is he talking about?

i also plan to get some clearomizers because my husband wants to try a pv and wants clove and im afraid it will ruin my atty forever. *shudder* whats a good cheap site for clearomizers that wont crack with crazy fluids?

I am only 2 months into vaping so i still feel like a newb. <3

thanks! i have type a. local is np. only one place and too far. i order everything online.
Oh, but what I meant is something US based if you are in a hurry because Health Cabin is in China. EMS shipping takes about a week to the US and slow China Mail 2-3 weeks. Their prices can't be beat though and I buy almost everything from them.

I think your friend is probably talking about the silicone replacement caps. Because I'd also heard about problems with the eGo tanks leaking, out of an abundance of caution I bought 20 of the silicone caps when I got my first eGo tank setup but have found I actually prefer the original caps (they're easier to pop off with my thumbnail when refilling and don't stain like the silicone caps do). I've been using eGo-T and eGo-C systems for over 3 months now and have had zero leaking problems with them. The key thing is to use a soft, slow drag with them because hard, fast drags will pull more juice through the wick than the coil can vaporize. You'll also get warmer vapor and more flavor with a soft, slow drag.

My silicone caps are great! Stops all leaking except in extreme heat with thinner liquids. With thick VG liquids I get no leaks in the summer heat.

The standard plastic caps seem to leak for me after. About 3-5 uses, then I replace it with silicone. And I have yet to need to replace the silicone caps after about 3 months of use and counting...I did manage to drop one and lose it though ;)

The silicone cap really has nothing to do with it. The atomizer in the ego-T can actually leak on both ends! Once the atomizer starts getting dirty, you'll start dragging harder to get the same throat hit and vape. This pulls the juice in faster than the atomizer can process it. I've had juice leaking out of the area around the button and it also slips up the channels in the mouth piece. When you use the silicone cap, if you happen to align the mouth piece into the atomizer so that the half moon slits on the cap don't match the slits in the atomizer, the cap effectively blocks the juice from getting sucked into the channels of the mouth piece. At least to some extent. But I have a problem with leaking with the silicone caps and found that a slower draw with a clean atomizer is the way to minimize leaking.

Some atomizers leak more than others. I have no explanation for this, except possibly the wick is healthier in one vs the other. Not sure.

But it's definitely a pain in the .... to waste juice thru leakage. And it can be a substantial amount of waste.
