just got may ego t today i have a riva 510 was wondering if the first charge is the same? 8 hours vape 20 minutes then charge an hour. nothing in the manual about it just says the ego t takes 5 hours to charge.

It's always good to break in a Batt the right way for sure, after that I always use mine from full charge till its ready for a charge though and have had good luck using this method.
Charging is always a good thing, but the newer batteries don't have "memory" so the memory charging isn't that valid anymore.
Just charge until the light on the charger turns green.most batteries are shipped partially charged,li-ion batteries don't develop a"memory"
so 8 hr charges are not needed,but it won't harm it if left on the charger overnight.Just don't leave it on all the time.
If partially charged,you can vape while the other battery charges.

i read that it has an overcharge micro chip in it so im guessing when the light goes green its ready to go.
Warning: If you're getting the new-style eGo batteries with the button lock (5 quick presses to lock/unlock), they come locked. I made that mistake and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't vape even though it showed green on the charger after less than a minute
